World Series is on at 5:30 pm MST

I guess we should have known at this age, what Jesse was capable of. He was the lead role in this play waaaay back when. Those glasses and the bow tie kill me, but of course I am a grandparent and proud.

Actually winning the Jackie Robinson contest this year was a great honor, but flying from Denver to Boston was Jesse’s second plane ride–he doesn’t remember his first one of course, when he was adopted from Korea as an infant. This was the look on Jesse and his dad’s face when they were picked up by a limousine by MLB.

It has been their mode of transportation in this three day trip. This is the gear they were given, Jesse’s shirt has Jackie’s number 42.

More pics coming as I want to share this lifetime event for our family.

They will be on ABC World News Friday night and tonight’s game. Just when you think you need a boost, you get a great one like this. We are happy!

MLMM Bonus Wordle- F

The flight attendant looked one last time in the mirror, adjusting her uniform to make sure her femininity was on display. She didn’t want to open the floodgates of the masculine passengers whenever she chose to flutter her eyelashes or flaunt her lovely flesh, but she did want to impress. She didn’t think of it as flirting or “coming on” to them, she just wanted to be regarded as beautiful. It was not really Marie’s fault, being naive. Marie regarded her beauty as her single asset. She went about it the wrong way, and ended up being misinterpreted.

Marie always wanted to work in the fashion world. To complete these dreams, she chose her present job to make influential contacts, foreshadowing her desired future. Thus the forfeit of the stewardess job in order to meet these people. As a result of her misguided efforts to impress, Marie’s fruitless attempts to be taken seriously resulted in flibbertigibbets in the crew to fairly froth at the mouth with ridicule.

The Secret Keeper #164 – A Tragedy

He was not the artist he wanted to be. He had the obsession to act from an early age and now at twenty five, he found himself disappointing. He had turned to the theater for solace from his family life. After a few small successes, he started to think he would actually make acting a lifetime career. He lived a dream through scripted characters to shut out past memories, always being someone else with their hopes and dreams.

Joseph was mildly depressed when he started out on this venture, hoping to solve his inner problems. The deeper roles hindered his success of being free, as constant painful recollections invaded his mind. Instead of being assuaged by turning into someone else, it exacerbated his own truth.

Leaving the theater rehearsal that afternoon, Joseph was excited but also mesmerized by his latest role – Hamlet – that he failed to hear the taxi’s horn and was killed instantly.

Word of the Day: Spectre

Adjusting her pillow one more time, hoping it was the last, Mary closed her eyes, again. Even the blinds would not hold back the parking lot glow. All electrics off and she told herself she was tired enough to sleep.

Sleep was something Mary took as a relief from the day but achieving enough of a relaxed state to sleep was difficult–every night.

Snuggling further under the covers, her soft blanket tucked around her shoulders, Mary tried to let her mind drift into sleep. She practiced what a doctor advised her, to relax parts of her body one by one. She started at her toes.

It was about the time she reached her knees that she heard it. She uncovered her ears from the blanket to listen again. There was a sliding, or scraping noise, definitely. She uncovered the upper part of her body and listened again. The scraping sound made her relive the horror movie she watched earlier. Was it the grim reaper? As she heard the scraping, she shivered. What is that? Another frightened shiver.

Mary sat up and reached for her sweater. She walked to the window and peering out, she saw it. Even in the darkened lot, the spectre was visible.

It was silently snowing and her apartment neighbor was cleaning off his car getting ready to leave for work.

Putting My Feet in the Dirt 23

Stirring, stirring

This god awful brew

The cauldron old

The recipe new

Since I made the commitment

It’ll have to do

Witches are busy this time of year

So I said I’d be happy to cook it right here

That was a mistake as I can see now

Even the cats are starting to yowl

The mixture’s too thick, getting hard to stir

I should have used hogs’ breath instead of myrrh

Finally, its now a feast for the eyes

“Green and perfect”, my curdling cries

The witch coven will think I’m neat.

As I serve them this Halloween treat.

Putting My Feet in the Dirt 22

What’s your favorite they always ask

Smetimes answering is a task

I love a lot, not just people or things

Animals, but also what life brings

If we’re talking colors, red is a fave

But picking a shirt, blue or green I crave

Well I guess I’m also attracted to brown

I’m not into colors worn by clowns

Purple, yellow, I can do without

But rust is worn, gives me some clout

Now black is slimming I agree

Good for my own figure – bodily

Green and blue clothes that match my eyes

Receiving compliments a nice surprise

But even being a Broncos fan

Ogre orange was always planned

While watching the game it was all at our feet

Orange crush soda and orange treats

Orange shirts and orange food

If seen without it, you were rude.

Denver’s colors have often changed

But we old orange crushers still remain.
