It’s that time of year for witches on brooms and a 1971 rendition of “Bedknobs and Broomsticks”, an old favorite of mine with some great songs. Have fun!

Sleeping Ute Mountain, Utah, USA
****
It’s just up there a ways, over the sleeping mountain as the locals call it. It just looks like an ordinary pile of rock to me, but legend has it, it has moved.
Really! Moved? Was there an earthquake?
Nope, but that’s what they say. Apparently in the old days of Native Americans, tribes had many myths and legends about mountains, animals and such. I’ve always been a believer myself, no use in taking any chances.
Tell me about the mountain moving.
Well the legend says that after the Custer debacle, the tribes gathered on that mountain. That was when it had another hump on it. In fact the whole thing looked like a man, head and body lying down.
So what happened at the meeting?
They call it a powwow.
Okay, powwow, so what happened?
The tribes all agreed there had to be a warning put out for all to see, reminding everyone there would be no more buckling under to the white soldiers. After the ceremony they all returned to their villages. The next day the mountain had changed. The sleeping man was now headless.
Yikes! I think my hike is over. I don’t want to go anywhere near that mountain!

Putting My Feet in the Dirt 15

Hey, it’s Mr. T! π Nah, it’s actually named pentatomid.
π·ππ¦
I never was one for bugs
Creepy crawlies seem like thugs
Always around where you don’t need
Looking for some sensitive skin to feed
Mosquitoes, flies, disgusting things
Especially flies, who knows where they’ve been?
Spiders I think are the worst
Their attack dance seems to be rehearsed
Ever notice no matter where you go
They come right towards you as if they know
You’re afraid, and won’t seek the broom
Bringing it down on them, completing their doom
But all the horror in movies and books
Seem to succomb to the gross ugly looks
Of corpses where maggotty monsters abound
In buried caskets under the ground.

Autumn is the time
We raise our efforts to plant
Never lower our expectations

The Secret Keeper #163 – Etheree Poetry

Line
You drew
Set the rules
My getting close
Was not expected
Can I defend myself
Draw my own line in the sand
I don’t think I am capable.
Truly, it is too late to stop now
And stem these deep feelings of love I have.
MLMM Bonus Wordle – E

I never thought of myself as evil. In fact my emulation of the old horror stories of my childhood seemed rather exoteric in my opinion. Wanting to indulge enough without erasing my basic instincts of civility, I feel I was justified in my entry to the macabre. Being on the easement between small crimes and the edge of actually insane acts committed by true believers, one could say I was perfectly innocent.
The exact day I decided to enter into the exotic world of voodoo was only an adventure. After all, I had no equipment to complete any ethereal tasks, only a bold curiosity. However, I’m sure my friend Jim wished he was elsewhere when we found some.
Jim was also a curious sort. Both of us decided to visit New Orleans during spring break and see Mardi Gras. It ended up being a bad influence on both of us. We meant no harm to anyone, but it seemed intriguing to investigate the voodoo shops, looking at supposed charmed objects and the like. We seemed to be drawn to a particular group of items, and pooled our monies, purchased them and exited the shop.
A visit to the Internet completed our delve into the occult as we searched out the meaning and capabilities of our finds. The stones inscripted with symbols piqued our imagination first. We had seen tarot cards, crystal balls and such before. We had even used fake runes in board games, but these were different. We looked up a few that would hopefully complete a task to complicate the life of our college classmate, Jack.
We chose a few of the stones symbolizing compulsion, failure and loss, relationships and confusion. We gathered them into a bag and secretly placed them in Jack’s hotel room. The results didn’t come as quickly as Jim and I planned, but the prank proved to be completed as Jack’s girlfriend ended up despising him and turned to me for comfort. A little misplaced bragging about our trick was soon recognized as the reason for Jack’s problems.
Since our evil doings were discovered, it is Jim and me who are now alone.

60 Minutes – Sorry to bother again
No matter what you believe, as a citizen of the USA, I suggest you watch this latest interview. It shows you exactly who Trump is, how he bullies, demeans and repeatedly refuses to answer a direct question. The main gist to me was showing his little boy playground attitude with this repeated statement:

I know you’re sick of it. I too, want to stick my head in the sand, but when I was surfing, waiting to see Poldark on PBS, caught this and thought I would give him a chance.
I wonder if he knows just how telling the interview answers were. Personally – which is how I always write here on my own blog, of course, I can’t even stand to look at him or listen, myself. But I thought it was sort of a “civic duty”. I think you should check it out and see how he uncovers what I thought all along.
JMO – which I always feel free to write here on the blog.

Anyone see 60 minutes interview with Trump?
So disgusting, blaming everything on Obama, Dr. Ford, when is he ever going to take responsibility for his actions and not blame ex presidents, the press and any woman that’s handy? Fake news? He interrupts, won’t give any direct answers. OMG
Sammiscribbles Weekend Writing Prompt #76

Would you unlock your heart?
Open it up to the world
See the poor, see their pain?
**
Would you unlock your mind?
Not just see color
See the inside of a person?
**
Would you unlock your arms?
Stop being defensive
And curb your fear of the unknown?
**
Would you unlock your world?
See a larger picture than your own small surroundings
Open yourself to another human being?

Sunrise early to melt snow
Softly disappears
