What’s My Story Then 5

***

I didn’t really believe it, even then. I thought to myself, the old woman must be senile for sure! Bees, honey, windowsills, who would have thought the guys weren’t talking nonsense? The other mail carriers told me, don’t do it, don’t look, but I thought they were just razzing the rookie.

I was delivering the mail to her the first day on my route and was suddenly attacked by a swarm of bees. Dancing around, I lost control of the mailbag, and I regret saying this, but I was screaming like a banshee!

The home owner, old Ms. Danbury came hobbling out with a large jar of honey in her hand. All of a sudden the bees stopped hovering around me and magically went into the jar. I was gaining my composure when she invited me inside and have a cup of tea to calm me.

It was then she told me of her secret bee ways, showing me the honey encrusted window to her garden. Drawing me in, she turned the small key, opened the window, and offered a look out to her backyard where she kept beehives. Apparently, once in a while a few would escape their homes and bother a visitor, attracted to certain aromas eminating from them.

After that morning, I chose not to wear my favorite after shave cologne: Lavender Lover.

SOCS April 27, 2019

Xp reminds me of 2009? and my old desk setup-computer with big stack, keyboard, monitor, scanner and printer. I was using Windows and someone gave me an XP disc.

Instead I ventured into a laptop, probably because I had grand illusions of sitting by a stream somewhere, typing away about the fate of the environment. I don’t have illusions any longer. Sometimes life’s reality just hits you in the face and says, wake up, idiot.

And now that I am that happy idiot, it is a lot easier.

MLMM First Line Friday

The pen wasn’t worth anything, but Maddie pocketed it anyway. He should have given it to her, but didn’t, so she stole it. Can you really call it stealing when there is a cup of them sitting on the lawyer’s desk? She decided no, it was not.

Maddie was the “other woman”–such a trite phrase she thought. There isn’t a couple alive who stay monogamous, she was sure of it. Today was just a simple formality, signing away any claim she might have to the recently deceased’s property.

Why would she want anything? It wasn’t him, all that overblown crap his wife displayed. Maddie wondered if she ever thought about what Joe really wanted.

Walking into the elevator she took the pen out and stared at it. “Well, Joe, I’m going to keep this to remind me of the day when your shrew of a wife publicly declared I met nothing to you. I didn’t mind signing the papers, because we know the truth.”

MLMM Wordle #130

All eyes on the plaintiff as she sat there faking tears

“The accusation is not false,” she said, “I implore my peers”

The courtroom viewed him in contempt, as she testified

“But, I’m innocent of this charge, can’t you see she’s lying?”

The husband sat there, twisted in his defensive seat

“My alibi will serve no justice, I accept defeat.”

Hearing that, his wife regretted the entire trial

Admitting she spoke in perjury, accusing him of vile.

“In my defense,” she said, “I involved you in this scheme-

I wanted what we used to have, bringing back the dream.

Your attention was what I desired, can’t you see?

Years of ambivalence, from you involving me.”

At this point the judge, and the jury too

Shook their heads and left, the law was now askew.

Is it me? RANT

***

Irritated, dismayed, frustrated, agog, flabbergasted, discouraged, tired, are only a few words I feel as I read numerous opinions and reports about the campaign of Mr. Trump and his family.

The CNN reporter above voices his opinion and “hope” we Americans will do……WHAT, exactly? Vote? Because that worked out so well three years ago?

I feel as though we are drowning here with no recourse, that 2020 won’t be any different. It’s a complete farce with Mr. Trump as the main clownish actor–successfully overiding an increasing tragedy.

Laws were broken, but it seems no one is capable of standing up against this tyrant. This is NOT what America is about, is it? All historical documents being twisted or ignored completely?

Is it me? I feel like I’m in a Twilight Zone episode that never ends.

FFF Challenge #10

“Hurry dear, we only have a few minutes till they realize we’re gone.” Harold took his wife’s hand, urging her to quicken her pace. The masks would only protect them for a few hours and they had to make the most of it.

Mary tried to keep up, but the ground was rocky and her shoes seemed to stick at every step. The tar-like filled ground was constantly fed from the sky, and avoiding the falling mess was another reason to hurry.

Both scientists entered the new Save the Earth program with high expectations and naïveté. After working to improve the atmosphere for over twenty years, they finally succumbed to the fact all were doomed to reap the benefits of carbon based pollution.

Harold and Mary were yearning for the fresher fields of their childhood as they could see the biodome was only a few more miles ahead in distance.

MLMM Tale Weaver – Coffee, Tea, or Me?

A morning routine

Rise with sheen

Coffee a must

Toast with a crust

Some prefer tea

But that’s not me

Hot cinnamon buns

Make me come undone

Bacon is nice

But a heart’s vice

Suffice it to say

It would make my day

However oatmeal’s the choice

Not one to rejoice

But gives one strength

To go on at length

Which I just did.
