MLMM Saturday Mix 6-16-18

Summer camp under the blue

Array of stars above for you

A bath in the lake

No soap to take

Slap sound of bare feet

On a packed dirt street

No need for covers with soles

Experiencing nature is the goal

Bunk beds essential for roommate fun

Just bend down if you’re the lower one

Horse riding, frog friends, then fireflies

A perfect day turns to peaceful night

Sunday Photo Fiction and Putting My Feet in the Dirt 17

He came here every day to get a break from the factory job. He enjoyed the company of only a few birds. He shared his lunch every day with the creatures he considered friends. He came here to forget.

Charlie had married Sylvia when they were both in their thirties. He thought he knew her, but as time passed he noticed changes in her behavior. She became reckless and distant. After following her one night he discovered her meeting a stranger in the local bar. He confronted her and she admitted she couldn’t help herself.

Charlie accompanied Sylvia to therapy and she learned how to control her compulsive behavior. Things between them were never the same after Charlie discovered Sylvia’s secrets.

June Writing Prompts

Carrot Ranch Flash Fiction 6-14-18

He grabbed a bunch of wild flowers, not really a neat bouquet, but she would love it. John knew she would prefer one like this, wild, unformed, natural. The roots showing, untamed, fitting her personality perfectly. John loved this about her. He was attracted to her not only because of her natural beauty, easy manner and free thinking life; she was extremely knowledgeable, and always open to new ideas.

Earlier John carefully packed a picnic lunch with her favorite treats. A bottle of wine tucked in and he was ready to go. The bouquet was snatched from his garden.

FOWC – Candor

The neighbors love their shelter pet

The homeless ones you can get

A nice way to show you care

But furry pets I am beware.

🐈🐈🐈

Wanting to share their new love

Couldn’t even use a glove

Furry creatures can be harmful

When you have an armful.

🐕🐕🐕

It’s not the fur, it’s the dander

Had to say it with all candor

Sorry but they make me sneeze

Around animals I’m not at ease.

Time to Write 6-15-18

It is just a book Frank said.

It was not just a book, it was my life, written out with a pseudonym on the cover. The lines written were real and I did not want anyone who knew me to read what I revealed in the pages of the book.

The secrets are now ready to be published. I feel it needs to be out, even as a warning to other women. I hope the title attracts these women to read the book and take steps to remedy their situation. I detailed my experiences and the ways I found to help myself and survive.

Frank read the book. He was puzzled as he read what I had been through. I thought he would be able to understand and accept what happened and appreciate me as the woman who recovered and was now able to have a real relationship.

Time To Write: A Book [Creative Writing Prompt]

Rag Tag Community Prompt: Target

Kids with guns

Yes, they’re plastic

Filled with sponge balls, darts, plastic pellets

Supposed to be harmless

To me these are not “toys”

Targeting other children’s faces

Forget the softness of the bullets

Think of the implications

A child of twelve running around a playground with a gun

Shaped and clicking and simulated to use and sound like an AK-47

I watch as he shakes it with his right arm to reload

I see him mimicking all the moves of a soldier in combat

Sneaking around, lying down to get a steady-armed shot

His target in the sites

Is this what we want our children practicing?

I wrote this knowing I will get flak, and I welcome all of your opinions and ideas on it. I’m not asking you to agree with me, I would just like your opinion.

MLMM Tale Weaver 175

“Tom, could you zip me up please” as she turned her back. Marie was resplendent in her blue satin evening dress. Tom took time to gaze upon her reflection in the mirror. The dress brought out the beauty of her large light blue eyes. Marie caught his gaze and smiled adoringly. She admired her husband’s choice of evening clothes as well.

This night was looked forward to by the newlyweds, being the fourth night of the honeymoon, and the first venture out of their hotel room. Marie grasped his offered arm and they stepped out to the street. A tourist attraction caught Tom’s eye and he flagged down the horse and carriage for a trip around the park. The evening was warm and bright stars peeked from the canopied trees in the park. Marie nestled in Tom’s arms hardly believing it was all real.

Arriving at the hotel entrance once again, Tom took Marie’s hand as she stepped out of the carriage. Their dinner destination, a few doors down, was a new restaurant where Tom made reservations for a discreet corner table. Preparations for the dinner were arranged by Tom, and the previously ordered champagne arrived immediately. From out of nowhere, Tom produced a rose for Marie. The scene was romantic and perfect, the fairytale Marie had always read about as a child.

SoCS 6-16-18

Good morning, afternoon, evening, or did I wake you? Sorry. That is one of the great things about WP. You can “speak” to someone anywhere in the world at any time of day in any type of climate. Today it is partially cloudy here in Wyoming, and dry. As in Colorado, we usually get threatening clouds in the afternoon but any moisture they drop is usually slurped up by the hot ground immediately. This week is reservations and I just made them! My daughter and I are going to the new “Jurassic Park” movie next week. I made reservations for the ARQ ATMOS seats which means we will have not loud but clear sound and feel the rumble of the dinosaurs surround us. Just the two of us haven’t been to a movie for years. I can’t wait.
