Monday………..again. Yes, discouraged after just ordering checks from my bank to the tune of $30.00. What? This bank also assesses a fee of $80.00 for an overdraft when all they could do is push a button telling the gas company to resubmit the next day after my check goes in. A lousy button! It seems all my big bills come on the first. I get paid in the middle of the month. Yuck! But thirty dollars for checks is a large fee. So “onward and upward” as C.S. Lewis said, because, do I have a choice?

Time for ceenphotography.com‘s Share Your World questions and here they are:

1. Seriously? Right at this time in our family we could use an unlimited supply of washingtons, jeffersons, lincolns, hamiltons, jacksons, grants, benjamins, and if you have any of these stored in a closet somewhere: mckinleys, clevelands, madisons, chases, wilsons–just being the antiques they are, no problem! I could put them to good use.πŸ˜„πŸ˜³πŸ˜‚

2. Teleportation, definitely. Easy peasy, no lines, no tickets, no bags, no security check wands, no removing your shoes or having your artificial knee buzz, no tightly arranged seating, no kids constantly kicking the back of your seat, no sitting in a cramped hot space with no air circulation on the tarmac for whatever reason hoping it’s not something mechanical under your feet, no guy next to you using the barf bag, no two inch bathroom that smells and you can’t turn around in, no bland food served on a bland plate, in a bland wrapping you can’t open–definitely teleportation.

3. Snows. You can’t always get out of the heat, but you can find ways to bundle up and get warm. Besides, snow is clean, white, soft, and beautiful.

Snarky answers all this week. But I am having a good Monday despite the bank. Thanks for reading. Despite my temporary attitude, thank you again.

Y’all come back now, ya hear?

😳😳😳

Okay, edit time, forgot the thankful part. And that’s important! I’m thankful I have three fathers to love for Fathers Day, my oldest son, my son in law and his father. All number ones in my book!πŸ‘πŸ»β€οΈ And looking forward? I have to say spending out of school time with the family.πŸ’™πŸ’œπŸ’šπŸ’›

Word of the Day: Hoax

As I’m sitting naked in my wheelchair, pushing on the lovely “appliance” as the manufacturers call it, which has to be held on your abdomen for a minute to adhere to your skin, I think to myself, is this a joke? Is this a hoax to remind me of every little thing I did wrong in my life?

I know I should be grateful my bladder cancer was diagnosed and that I have this bag, as I call it, to attach to the raspberry protruding from my skin. I am glad I live in a location that has doctors and hospitals to help, and have insurance to cover costs of this bag.

But as I sit, pushing on it to make sure it’s stuck well, I always contemplate, okay, I know I should be grateful I didn’t die from this second bout of cancer, but god I hate this.

So is it a punishment, not as bad as some, but no bowl of cherries either?

This is what happens when you live alone and have two minutes to just look at yourself and see what you really are. A bunch of flesh and bones, worn but still working, and not ready to be stored on a shelf in a jar.

Which, by the way, I won’t be. I’ll be in a cardboard box buried next to my husband who was also cremated, on a high hill in a grove of cedars in Colorado.

This is not a poor me, feel sorry or sad post. It is a grateful to be alive and ABLE to sit here applying this delightful, hardly attractive, but life saving device.

Image result for Monday motivation image

It’s time to tackle a new week! Monday here we come! I am a strong believer in being in charge of your own happiness. While things from the outside can challenge you it’s entirely up to you how you approach them and how much you let them shape you. Happiness truly come from the inside. So let’s do this! Let’s kick this week off on a positive note:

It’s easy:

β€’ Mention something that you consider being good in the comments

β€’ Or write a post about it on your blog (please don’t forget the pingback if you do so I don’t miss out and also share the link to it in the comments below). Something good that happened to you recently, or something good you will experience in a little while, or something good you know will happen soon. Something that makes you feel good.

Scott’s Daily Prompt: Line

Fancy meeting you here he said with a grin

May I buy you a drink, looking back at him

Do you come here often, he replied with a wink

Your eyes are so dark, like pools of ink

Oh, sorry, did I hurt you as he bent to retrieve

Her files as he had purposely clipped her sleeve

These lines all work some time somewhere

We all want someone but be beware

If a line’s all they have and nothing more

It’s better to leave alone by the door.

Some of my favorites I used to mimic as a child from Mae West:

Mystery Blogger Award

Okoto Enigma @ http://www.okotoenigmasblog.com is the creator of this award and was one of the first blogs I followed.

Thank you goes to Reggie German at https://fromprivatetopublic.wordpress.com for nominating me for this award. I have enjoyed his blog, new to me for a few weeks. He is a school teacher with great insight to children and writes poems and stories from his life experiences.

I have received awards, this one included and I very much appreciate receiving them as an opportunity to name other bloggers I’ve just met and some “oldies but goodies” as well. My confidence has been given a boost and an incentive to keep writing here. Thank you to all followers and readers! And please comment if you have any thoughts good or bad – be honest. I love comments!

Three things about myself are old hat now. If you read me, you know me already. I am a scribbler of my life, sometimes fact mostly fiction. I digress, number one – I love that phrase. Β Two. I just bought this in an attempt to be taller in my wheelchair:

It’s a patio chair pillow that should remain “fluffed up” more than a regular chair cushion. Three. My exciting life contains buying items like the pillow above and this small but very cute ceramic casserole to warm things in the microwave:

Yup, that’s about all the news that’s fit to print from me on this day June 17, 2018, Cheyenne, Wyoming, USA.

Answers to questions ^^^^Reggie asked of his nominees:

1. I am retired. I planned on being an executive secretary or a journalist. The first happened, the second a dream.

2. My sense of humor. Example: I was in line at Wal-Mart and the person ahead had a huge pile of dog food bags in his cart. We were both waiting a long time for the person ahead of us. I thought I would break the tension and asked him, “so, do you have a dog?” I thought it was funny, but the guy just looked at me like I was nuts.

3. No routine. Something comes to me with a word or picture and I just start scribbling.

4. Just like I previously mentioned, random. Easy to read, hopefully funny at times, or thought provoking.

5. You mean besides what I’m wearing right now? Which is pajama bottoms, gray with pineapples and plants, beige camisole and my favorite autumn hued cardigan. It’s Sunday, everyone else is out of town celebrating Father’s Day with my son in law’s dad and family. I get to be lazy, braless, comfortable and undisturbed.😳☺️😎

Five questions for my nominees:

1. If you have an award free blog, why?

2. Who influenced you most in your life so far?

3. Do you cook or bake? What’s your specialty?

4. What is your favorite movie ever?

5. Do you floss?

A favorite post? Most of the ones I personally like are not the most popular ones. Hmmm, lately the one I received the most likes on was a short simple poem: Daily Prompt: Guilty.

I need to preface this list by saying, if you see my icon, I like what you’ve written and usually comment, so please don’t be offended if your blog is not on this list:

Word of the Day: Moiety

There’s a problem in today’s society

It’s sometimes called moiety

Nothing new, it’s been around

In every sight, every sound

People can’t seem to get along

Express their views, however strong

A look, a color, a speech, a walk

Makes another person wary, balk

Not wanting to know or it is fear

Judging on what perceived appears

Into their brain, their minds so small

It’s a wonder we’re “together” at all.
