Word of the Day Prompt: Emphatically

Heard a quote on a tv show

One that I have always known

Love does make the world go ’round

Even if it’s up and down

True love wins in the end

If you start out as friends

Developing slowly and dramatically

To love each other emphatically

Daily Addiction Prompt: Transform

Who had this photo in mind as they watched her walk up to the podium to receive her college degree last month? The transformation of babies to young adults is rewarding but bittersweet. Time marches on at a very fast rate. Searching through stuff, cleaning closets, found this frame that contains my oldest grandson, the firefighter, and his sister, on her way to be a doctor.

I also see Bird, the menace we had thrust upon us after he was out of control in a young children household. He was cute, mean and intelligent, knew over thirty phrases and whistled the Barber of Seville. He had a three year old personality and was for the most part entertaining.

SoCS and Putting My Feet in the Dirt 30

“Life gets teejus, don’t it” said by an old comedian somewhere, but it always stuck with me. Because life is always a constant battle between what is good or bad, fun or irritating, discouraging or rewarding, or boring like this post.

Speaking to a bank representative who has a constant spiel, she comes to cockamamieconclusions about what I’m trying to get across to her. This is after going through the automated service that speaks slowly, irritatingly so, and says numbers and dates at a turtle’s pace. Having an automatic payment suddenly denied for no reason makes these calls necessary to endure. The fact that the auto payment has been made every month for four years ought to give her a signal that the bank made a mistake. And yes, I have money in the bank to cover it. It was denied for no reason except to make me spend Saturday morning on the phone talking to a person or automated services–the company that was denied payment and the banking institution.

😏😏

Hope your Saturday’s going better.

Now for the Cheers part: My twenty year old granddaughter is moving today into a rental house for the last two years of college. Now that is worth cheering about. A Daniels scholarship winner and ambassador, we are very proud of her!

Sammiscribbles Weekend Writing Prompt #61

In the days of Byzantine

The use of quarantine

Was quite often seen

If someone showed a fever sheen

Being young and very green

Who visited somewhere mean

Not careful to protect their genes

In some venue quite obscene

Where nothing was actually clean

Participants without mien

Used no appararatus in between

Never consulted with Athene

Or took the time to screen

Their lovers.

Tried to send this to Ken Hallett to wish him a happy birthday, but can’t leave anything like this in comments anymore….

What’s up with that? A guycalledbloke said Ken was having a bday by his lonesome. So let’s all wish him a great one!! Singing and dancing optional. . .

Putting My Feet in the Dirt 29

“Wow did you see that?” As the shark weaved back and forth seeking a snack, he paused to give Jerry a salacious wink. He would have stopped to chat, but you know, he’s a shark.

Jerry wiggled over to peer at Wanda, and there was a lot of peering needed, as Wanda was a whale, a beautiful blue whale. He licked his lips, and being a seahorse that was a lot of licking. “Wow, she does seem pretty encrusted!”

Oliver the octopus replied, “Yeah I’ve been there, man, no use. I mean, look! I have eight arms and she still wasn’t interested!”

“Well I’ll give it a try” snorted a feisty sperm whale. “She is a beauty, with those bodacious barnacles. . .vavavavoom!” Underestimating his comparable size, Stanley also struck out.

“What do you expect?” said her constant companion, Helen, the humpback. “She’s the queen of the sea, the largest mammal on earth! She can afford to be choosy.”

Life is not all fun and games in the salt water world.

MLMM Tale Weaver 177 – Heights? What heights?

Now that I’ve read nansfarm’s post about dates on links and how they work or don’t, I am totally confused. I usually save the link at the bottom of emails and use when I can or feel an idea for the prompt. Now I wonder if the Prompt post ever gets back to the prompter, or promptess, me being the promptee? Or is it the Prompt person or Prompt post person?

Am I the only one? Never mind, I’m used to the answer “yes, you are” as frequented by family members who shall remain nameless…..Lu!

And the frogs? Green, blue, chartreuse? I don’t use them, they never seem to work for me. Yes, I am that technically challenged.

As you can see I’m going under, I’m way over my head here, and all this time I just thought, easy! Write, read, and let them eat cake…oh, strike that, that was another disturbed woman. So trying to climb up to a reasonable fare in the blog world, vis a vis WordPress, I am treading water with no hope of succeeding reaching the shore. Or for this Prompt, ever reaching the heights I once thought I might achieve. I’m not all that fond of heights anyway, think I’ll stay down here in the boonies of WP for the time being.

FFftPP Week 26 – Trapped Without

Trying to reach through the fog

I am trapped outside my memories

Hidden within my outer persona

I dare not let you discover

How much I no longer know for sure

How hard I’m trying to rekindle

Thoughts that I see pass by in an instant

Reaching, trying to grab them before they disappear

The circuits in my brain no longer connect to let me see

The way I want to remember you.
