Word of the Day: Integrated

I think I have a solution

It has worked for us

Everyone is integrated

There is no muss or fuss

A certain color of your skin

Scars or tattoos on your shins

Your eyes are almond shaped

Your legs are long skirt draped

Scarves on hair or no hair at all

We all stand against the wall

Stand for freedom, standing tall

There is no thing outside seen

That differs from our inside dreams.

INTEGRATED

Three letter word. Well I guess that leaves anything describing Mr. T out. I was reading a Cheyenne WY newspaper article about a couple of Hispanic men pleading guilty to robbery. One sat outside driving, the other actually did the burglary. No one was injured and the guns stolen were sold to another twenty something. Twenty and twenty-two, the driver’s sentence was sixty years. Sixty years! I probably will rile some people with this, but I think this is overkill. You might think the old adage, don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time…but 60 years?

Meanwhile our self appointed king does and has done what I consider far more reprehensible crimes and is living scot-free, in luxury, along with anyone remotely related to him or his businesses, or underlings in government.

Maybe the word I need is: evil. . .nope too many letters, but bad just doesn’t seem vile enough.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS July 14/18

SYW 7-9-18

As with everything else this week I’m late, but it was time for ceenphotography.com‘s Share Your World post. Here’s a partial photo of her site with the questions:

My answers:

1. Cool question! Maybe “She Tried”

2. All of the above. Probably salty tops my list at the present time.

3. Since I have no college education I would definitely recommend it. For the classes, of course, but mostly for the experience of being away from home learning about life, before you make any lifetime commitments. As far as degrees are concerned my thinking is after thirty, they do not help in obtaining jobs.

🌸🌸

This week my next oldest sister and husband (she’s the only one of us not a widow) came to visit. I’m not used to constant company and I think my limit is three days. They brought family photos and pics, so that was a nice surprise. We all have big families and they even have great grandchildren, so a lot of catching up.

I’m getting a few business related things done so feel good about that. Not the results actually, but just getting it done. I reconnected with an old friend and that was wonderful.

🌸🌸

Happy weekend everyone and thanks so much for reading and commenting!💙

Movie Monday, eek! I’m late! Really really late!

Dan Ackroyd and John Candy, gotta love’em!

“It’s vacation time for outdoorsy Chicago man Chet Ripley (John Candy), along with his wife, Connie (Stephanie Faracy), and their two kids, Buck (Chris Young) and Ben (Ian Giatti). But a serene weekend of fishing at a Wisconsin lakeside cabin gets crashed by Connie’s obnoxious brother-in-law, Roman Craig (Dan Aykroyd), his wife, Kate (Annette Bening), and the couple’s two daughters. As the excursion wears on, the Ripleys find themselves at odds with the stuffy Craig family.“
Release date:June 1988
This scene shows Dan Ackroyd at his best.

Advice Needed

I usually use an iPad for all posting. Lately I must hit something strange because the letter or pic, whatever goes very large. I can’t pinch it down into original size. The only thing that works is to turn it completely off and hold down buttons until the white apple shows up. Then I have to wait for it to reset itself.

What am I hitting to cause this and is there a shorter way to get it to return to normal than I just described?

I would appreciate any help and suggestions. My iPad is set so I can pinch or spread the field in settings.

Thanks!!!

Putting My Feet in the Dirt 12

Salty shorelines called to her. She loved walking on the beach, gazing at the ocean on a cool morning, and collecting treasures found in the surf.

This was a respite for her usual day of adult children, grandchildren and household chores. Every year she would pack a small case with essential clothing, a couple of bathing suits, paper, notebook and writing utensils. She also carried a sketch pad because she was an artist. She was known for western or pastoral scenes painted from memories of her youth.

This needed break from her sometimes hectic family life was a boon to her creativity. She could return after a week of refreshment and resume the daily routines.
