MLMM Tale Weaver – Fairytale Woes

Finding a suitor for Cinderella’s sisters was quite a chore for King Humperdinck. He and Queen Marie A. found that even though they ruled with an iron hand, their efforts were often squashed by the neighboring kingdom, ruled by the Queen of Hearts. Of course any suitor wanted only to live in her kingdom because every person wants to find a rewarding and permanent love. However, her name did not reflect her character as they soon realized when attempting any courtship with her daughters.

Happy to be released from any obligations, these dejected souls drifted hither and yon in the Kingdom of Oz, only to be disappointed by the man behind the curtain. It was upon finding the yellow brick exit they happened upon the recently fallen kingdom of Blue Beard who had kept all available women to himself.

Trudging deeper into the forested area, one likely suitor came upon a bright young woman in a red coat. He accompanied her on her journey and as he rescued her and her grandmother from harm, finally found his love.

A few other would be suitors ended up in the town of Bremen as musicians, never quite satisfied with their fate. One of the impish wanderers came upon a golden key and found his dream life of adventure with a maid named Marion and lived a long dangerous, but happy life doing good deeds.

As far as King Humperdinck and Queen Marie, their semi-beautiful daughters ended up in the new world as the wards of the infamous President Lyndon.

The end. I’m sure you are glad 🙄

100 Word Wednesday #114

Such a lovely sunny afternoon she thought, as she leaned against his shoulder. His big strong shoulder that she would rely on for the rest of her life, and she sighed with contentment. He felt her there, and her confidence in him made his heart calm as he felt fulfilled with her.

This was the start. The ceremony at the Justice of the Peace office was unadorned except for his small gift to her of violets. It wasn’t the fanfare most people choose to join together for a lifetime, but it suited them.

Their bond of love was just beginning.

100 Word Wednesday: Week 114

REBLOG: Some interesting questions from Rory : )

Thought Provokers

***

When was the last time you tried something new?

***

Do you ever get excited about happiness?

***

Do you question enough or simply accept everything? As in if l said Jump – would you say no or how high or why?

***

What is your preferred blog reading style – do you like light hearted, emotional and heart-felt, comedy, learning about things, philosophy, something that you bite into and guage some depth from … what?

***

What belief do many people you know hold onto, that you yourself cannot believe under any circumstance?

***

When was the last time you were excited about life, what were you doing or had experienced to make you feel this way?

***

Is happiness just a myth do you think?

***

When life is all said and done, will you have said more or done more?

***

  • 1. The last time I tried something new it became a habit, blogging : )

    2. Definitely! Seeing others happy makes my day!

    3. If asked to jump I’d just say, are you nuts? I’m not sitting in this wc to look sexy!

    4. All of the above.

    5. That our lives can be altered by simply attending a religious ceremony in a building.

    6. I get excited by small things such as accomplishing the bakeoff entry or my grandson coming home from college for a visit. Life is what you make it.

    7. Happiness definitely not a myth in my case. I am happy to be alive, have a family and the basics to survive. Of course I have days when things don’t work right or problems don’t get solved, but for the most part I’m grateful.

    8. That’s a funny question for me. If given the chance I talk lot. Being isolated most of the time, I probably blab. I am embarrassed to admit that on an hour car trip I had been asked a question. About 15 minutes later I realized I had been “answering” the entire time. Oh my….

Moose, Spring and Nonsense

A post if you will

Cause I’ve no employment

I write right here

For my own enjoyment

I pass the time

Hoping to rhyme

Until I see

Some thing–it be

Amusing, inspiring, whatever they choose

Such as this one- “a moose on the loose”.

Being an old country girl

I am inspired to give this a whirl:

I’ve never seen one stroll in town

But their antics are well known.

I think Maine is their favorite haunt

If they desire a populated jaunt

Otherwise they stay in the woods

Not terrorizing neighborhoods.

In my defense, it seems Spring has Sprung here in lovely🙄 downtown Cheyenne and I’m feeling giddy!

MLMM Photo Challenge – Friend or Foe?

Almost everyone loved Harry. He always had a toothy grin and raised his hand with a sweet hello. Even on a stormy day, you would never pass by without seeing Harry’s smile and wave of greeting.

It was reported this morning that “renovations” were going to be made to the old icon. A few local unhappy passersby had hired scientists to determine if Harry was causing pollution in the surrounding waters. The findings were inconclusive. However, the louder disgruntled posed a lawsuit against Harry’s existence. As usually happens with a local election in view, the mayor succumbed and Harry was dismantled and removed.

Today, Harry’s fans visit the junkyard occasionally where Harry’s waving hand still greets them.
