The Bag Lady

George was a wordsmith, everyone knew

But today no words from his lips flew

His patience reaching an unfortunate end

As his wife showed her flamfoo when attempting to bend.

It wasn’t just George who noticed her slight

The other men too, took in the sight

She realized what happened and briskly stood up

Was pink faced to George like a guilty pup

She planned the garment as a surprise to George

But the talkative husband found words wouldn’t disgorge.

B is for books and I made the mistake of going to Barnes and Noble with the family yesterday. I bought three books for myself and am halfway through the first one, “The Girls in the Stilt House” by Kelly Mustian. I spied the cover as I was rolling by and it jumped out at me. Now I know why!

Sparkling in the sun, I enjoy your visit on my lawn. However temporary your stay, please know how delighted I am by your presence. A gathering of such distinctive individualized crystals, all shaped and patterned differently by Mother Nature’s wisdom. How does she perform such a miracle for us? I doubt we’ll ever know all of her secrets. Scientists with learned minds from different eras study you in their laboratories trying to explain to us why you exist as such unique creatures, but they are only guessing. How can they possibly decipher the ins and outs of such beauty?

A is for apple. . .nah, just kidding, but remember that old jumping rope game? I guess that shows my age because I do not see children jumping rope any more. It was fun and good exercise and usually took place out of doors–all actions to aid their health. There were no tablets, video games, or computers making you vegetate on a couch or chair. Yes, an old fashioned concept.
