those wise words ring true
Never scare a scarer
it comes back to haunt you
It’s all fun and games
till someone bites the dirt
Warns every parent
that you might get hurt
No kid ever pays attention to that.

Most kids gotta learn on their own but parents still have to try…

We need to be careful then but children hardly listen though. Good one.

Isn’t that the truth.

I enjoyed this Cheryl. Sadly I find myself giving that same advice to my children, quest my children aren’t children anymore, unless you consider 46 and 50 to be childhood.

Made me think of telling that adult son a few years ago to be careful when he was cutting something. His reply was “oh no mom, after this I’m going to run around with the scissors”. Once a parent always a parent

I also like the rhyme and rhythm of this piece. Such truth spoken in this poem. Nicely done.

Yes, the rhythm and the returning rhyme have a taunt about them; very effective! (Love your dragonfly too)

Love the rhyme and rhythm here. And all too true that kids don’t listen…
