Everyday People
Life
Since my current everyday life is the antithesis of production, I feel like the caboose on a previous life of accomplishment, however insignificant I may have thought at the time. I raised a family, and I salute stay at home mothers even though I did hold volunteer positions and many different paying jobs during that time. I did not find it a nuisance combining caring for my children and husband while doing so. In fact I was better at organizing all factors the busier I remained. Aging is a sometimes sad fact in that I begin to expect less of myself which is never a good thing.

SoCS 4-3-21 – Who
Who will be the one to remedy the mess we have gotten into? What is the answer to end this dilemma? When can we expect a change? Where are we going continuing this sad, hateful path? Why is there so much apathy in the world? I have no answers.

C for cats–unfortunately for me since I’m a dog person. I’ve had cats, lots of them since I lived on a dairy farm and anyone who had unwanted kittens dropped them off in our driveway.
Luckily we had a woodshed with barrels full of old clothing, rags, etc and they would make a home there. Only one cat was allowed inside the house, a tricolored mother cat. My dislike of cats came at an early age when she attacked and ate our pet parakeet.
As an adult our family had three cats, a mother cat similar to the one from my past and two sweet kitties. All animals came from the Dumb Friends League in Denver. They moved to Texas with us and I still miss them and the two dogs we had.

Fandango’s Friday Flashback 4-2-17

The tower bell chimes
Reminds us of times
When ships came ashore
In days of yore
To bring new spices
Or new devices
Alas those days
Are in a haze
The sea is silky
The horizon milky
The once green cliffs
Have become a mist
Of brambles and blackened bushes
No more are there baskets of fishes
No more the clean white stone
Where fishing nets were thrown
And bags of treasures shown
Even all the gulls have flown.

Oh my!

George was a wordsmith, everyone knew
But today no words from his lips flew
His patience reaching an unfortunate end
As his wife showed her flamfoo when attempting to bend.
It wasn’t just George who noticed her slight
The other men too, took in the sight
She realized what happened and briskly stood up
Was pink faced to George like a guilty pup
She planned the garment as a surprise to George
But the talkative husband found words wouldn’t disgorge.

B is for books and I made the mistake of going to Barnes and Noble with the family yesterday. I bought three books for myself and am halfway through the first one, “The Girls in the Stilt House” by Kelly Mustian. I spied the cover as I was rolling by and it jumped out at me. Now I know why!

White Summer Dress
Missed 🏹
The arrow flew
But proved untrue
Target immaculate
But bowman inaccurate
A prankster faulted
Was summarily vaulted.
