Grief came to me the first time at the age of thirty when I lost my mother. This is still painful to write.

***

Disbelief as I stood there watching

Doctors working hard to save her, they surely would succeed

I was incredulous, this couldn’t be happening

Bag full of her requests for the hospital now dropped and strewn on the floor

I screamed to God, how can you do this?

She is faithful and kind, obeys your rules…

I’ll do anything if you just let her live.

***

I’m not over depression of her death even from 46 years ago. However I have accepted it because had she lived she would have been bedridden with her too weak heart and she was a woman who never sat down. She was always busy and moving.

Go Dog Go Cafe – Haibun

Your prompt this week is
to write about the season you are in
and something you do during that
season. Go where the prompt leads.

***

Spring?

Supposedly it is spring here in Wyoming which really means an extension of windy cold days and snow which we had on May 1.

spring buds under snow

unpack sweaters put away

the calendar lies

3TC – Fairytale

Your three words today are:
ORIGIN
BEGIN
START

***

Where do I begin? Is the first page a good start?

Ah yes, but first let’s research the origin of the first word.

Okay pops!

The boy opens the book and says the word: Once…

Tuesday Writing Prompt Challenge

***

To an outsider the old man resembled a ghoul as he bent over the newborn. His dark cloak and hood to shield the infant from the rain might have been scary to see at first, but it was merely a gesture to keep the new life safe from the weather.

There was blood of course, as in all births, but not too much. Both babe and mother had been well cared for by the man. It was the stag that stood nearby in protection also, that looked fearsome to the others. The old man bent down further and set the fawn on the grass and then walked back into his own shelter. Nature could take it from there.

Simply 6 Minutes

***

“I say Gwendolyn, have you ever seen such a thing? It looks straight out of Grimm’s Fairytales! I think we’d better skip this part of the forest, don’t you?”

“Right Jeeves, I can only think if we venture into them we might be transported to another world, or maybe a witch’s tent!”

“Right you are, let’s go into that trail over there. I think there’s some light for an opening in the trees.”

The two adventurers stepped into another section of the forest and traveled toward a lighted section. Suddenly they stopped and grabbed each other’s hands. Ahead the light shown down on a small cottage covered with all kinds of candy and sweets. A nice looking old woman opened the door.

Fandango’s Story Starter

This week’s Story Starter teaser is: HE WANDERED AIMLESSLY THROUGH THE MUSEUM SEEKING ANY FORM OF DISTRACTION TO AVOID…

thinking of Him. Him—what a word to describe the most beautiful person he had ever met. Him, who’s very heartbeat made his own heart leap into previously unknown delight. He had thought of it of course, thought what it might be like to love someone that much, but to have it actually happen? Not a chance. It was all fine to read about it, see it in movies, but to feel it? Indescribable! I have to forget Him, he thought.

Then of course his meandering took him into the Greek sculpture section of the museum.
