Welcome to the Saturday Mix, 24 September 2022!
This week we are dipping our toes into the pool of OPPOSITES. Our challenge is all about “opposing forces” and the use of antithesis in our writing. You will need to use the two opposing words in your response – which can be poetry or prose.
Our words this week are:
– fresh and stale
– flat and hilly
***
“A baker I’m not”, announced at the start
Her cake lay flat going stale on the cart
“Baking for me is just so silly“
“A generous frosting hides what’s supposed to be hilly.”
Grabbed the cake, daubed on lots of fresh cream
As all were pleased, so it seemed.

Did you say cake? Mmm!

I recall making an angel food cake that went completely flat when I removed it from the tube pan onto the plate. It was the most pathetic-looking cake I’ve ever seen!
