dVerse Poets – Forest Fires

***

“The trees are mad silhouettes against the rouge pink sky; perhaps they too need emptying.” – A pocketful of maybes.

***

Burned blackened tree limbs reach up for relief

Scorched grounds surround them

No nourishment for recovery

They beseech the red threat to stop its callousness

While overhead pink skies quietly mourn earth’s loss.

  1. This is absolutely stellar writing, Cheryl 🙂 I especially resonate with; “pink skies quietly mourn earth’s loss.” .. I wonder if mankind will ever pay heed to the signs of nature. Thank you so much for writing to the prompt 💝💝
