She thought “I should make a note…”

And then sat down to write

Forgot what to remember

“Oh yes, it’s Steven’s quote!”

Looked around for a pen

The paper by her side

By the time she found the ink

Once again the memory died.

Frustrated in her older years

Bought a phone recorder fine

Now she simply speaks her thoughts

‘Cause it’s by her all the time.

A sorry attempt at humor about a problem for today with so much on our minds.

“It’s called sun juice,” Joe said proudly, putting the golden hued liquid in front of the retriever. He sat down beside his companion, stretched out his legs on the old parquet floor and hoped it would work. The vet he asked for help said it might improve the dog’s health. Joe sighed, smoothing his hand over his friend’s back. Joe’s dog sniffed a while and then drank the cancer medicine as if he knew.

Friday night funny

“A lot of people are afraid of heights. Not me, I’m afraid of widths.”

“You can’t have everything … where would you put it?”

“Be nice to your children. After all, they are going to choose your nursing home.”

“I used to work in a fire hydrant factory. You couldn’t park anywhere near the place.” –

Lisa’s Bingo Challenge

I’m choosing the stand alone square to fill today with “The House in the Cerulean Sea”
From Goodreads: “A magical island. A dangerous task. A burning secret.

Linus Baker leads a quiet, solitary life. At forty, he lives in a tiny house with a devious cat and his old records. As a Case Worker at the Department in Charge Of Magical Youth, he spends his days overseeing the well-being of children in government-sanctioned orphanages.

When Linus is unexpectedly summoned by Extremely Upper Management he’s given a curious and highly classified assignment: travel to Marsyas Island Orphanage, where six dangerous children reside: a gnome, a sprite, a wyvern, an unidentifiable green blob, a were-Pomeranian, and the Antichrist.

Loved this! You will not be disappointed ♥️

Excerpt from Jill Dennison’s post: “Vote, dammit”

Click to read entire post: http://jilldennison.com/2022/07/08/vote-dammit/

“Today, the Wisconsin State Supreme Court barred the use of ballot drop boxes and ruled voters could not give their completed absentee ballots to others to return on their behalf. This is but one of the many new voter suppression moves by the states, especially those that are considered ‘red’ states, but the utter gall of it disgusts me. Who does it hurt? Blue collar working people, poor people, elderly and young people, Black people … all those categories that are more likely to vote for a Democrat come election day. Hell, they might just as well have said that only registered Republicans will be allowed to vote! Or … why even have an election … why not just let the damn Supreme Court decide who will make the laws? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.”
