The Memorial

He sat in shadows thinking about the memorial to deliver the next day at gym assembly. A spy watching might think he was inventing a lovely speech to placate them. A teacher he privately despised and was told to memorialize was a segment of his career even though required, he felt he couldn’t do. This was the first time as principal he hated his job. The deceased didn’t deserve a rewarding commemoration, but he suspected he was the only one who realized it. The proof in hidden files were private. He labored over the words and finally decided to overgeneralize. Teacher, gym, assembly
