MLMM Photo Challenge

Desperation raises its hand

A plea from one of a common man

Thought support was there but cannot stand

Not where she lives in this land

Land of freedom, land of choice

Turns out that’s only someone’s voice

No truth, no freedom for this one

She bundles up away from the sun

She’s on a path, with no help done

Women have no rights she finds

Tries accepting her life in binds

Then choosing her fate, raising one exhausted hand

Slides into the deep, only death can she plan.

dVerse Poetics

***

Always there, your constant voice

Make a decision, make a choice

It never ends, seems ongoing

My thoughts start a constant “boing”

This or that, black or white

How can I know which is right?

Then the pressure starts to build

Which is the box that should be filled

Wrong or right I take the plunge

Hoping I chose the best one.

Fandango’s Story Starter

This week’s Story Starter teaser is: I TURNED ON THE EVENING NEWS ONLY TO SEE ONE OF THE BIGGEST SECRETS OF MY LIFE PLAYING OUT BEFORE MY EYES.

Oh my god, it’s him! I couldn’t believe my eyes! Standing on camera in an orange jumpsuit and in handcuffs was the worst mistake I ever made.

Yes, okay, I was young, lonely, vulnerable, and definitely naive. Of course that’s no excuse, I did have a brain, I was just instantly, unusually attracted. It seemed the entire world shrunk down and it was only him and me.

It was good for a while, but then I started receiving gifts from him. At first small but then more expensive and I wondered how he could afford them. After a few months, I confronted him and when I found out the obvious to everyone but me truth, I left. Now I think, will he tell them about me? Will I be liable in some way? Oh my god.

Beauty is as beauty does is the old saying and I totally agree. Timeless beauty often describes a concealed unpleasant personality. The true meaning of beauty is often hidden inside while the opposite is true also. A sunny yellow exterior may hide a dark hidden secret. How to tell the difference? Don’t call, don’t tweet, don’t text, just meet face to face and listen. An honest conversation reveals a personality.

MLMM Wordle #285

No roundabout version of his opinion was going to be heard, no subtle references in the story at all. Nope, Joe always just blurted out his chill version of events in outstanding clarity, at least that’s what he thought.

“It began with breakfast service to our cabin. Our business assets provide this weekend to their clients once a year, clients meaning us,” he smiled. “The reason of course is obvious, to promote well being and encourage us to drop more clients their way. Why some of you decided to visit rancor on the poor server, I have no idea. He was trying to do his best and didn’t deserve your criticism. We are a large group here and of course everyone ordered something different to eat. The weekend is free, the surroundings and accoutrements are free and so is the service, no tips required.”

Joe looked around seeing a still disgruntled audience. “You guys are hopeless!”

Six Sentence Story

***

“I love this one!” Julie was trying on her first homecoming dance dress in a crowded fitting room. The form of it was tightly fitted, dramatic black in color with an off center diagonal slit.

The grandmother looked askew and reminded everyone of her always ready opinions, “you’re only fifteen, you have all your life to wear such a dress. This is too old for you!” Of course she was the only one in the small room that spoke out.

Then Julie’s mom lovingly looked at her daughter and chimed in, “I like it too, Julie”.
