MLMM Wordle #207

She drew the pinfeather from her sweater. Visiting the chicken coop always yielded fresh eggs, but never without a soft white feather to boot. It had taken a lot of decorous actions to justify this coop in an area not wanting to accept any animals at all. In obtaining this old house she did not falsify her reasons for purchase on the final contract. She was a retired business woman and knew full well the ramifications of falsehoods. Also being wary of contractual obligations she was a hemmablind individual and required no crutch of lawyers except for the minimum requirement. She knew her way around the business world.

This day she calmly walked around the property, observing the marigolds she planted around the small vegetable garden. Indeed they did the trick, keeping pests away. The stream close by provided a trickle of ever feeding underwater to the garden. It was her natural way of watering and therefore required no fancy hoses or sprinklers. All efforts on her part were to maintain a living as close to nature as possible.

At first she was a curiosity to her neighbors, living alone, not communicating with others who tried to pester with inquiries of her lifestyle. She was happy and only interested in maintaining her home and solitary life. She had lived the other life for over sixty years. That sacrifice provided her with the completion of a life long dream of this home and this life.

SYW 8-20-18

Fall is in the air this morning and cooler temps most of the week. The lows much lower which is to my liking! I rarely use the A/C in my small apartment, only for visitors. I’m not old enough yet to be bundled up outside in eighty degree weather. I do see their point, however; not eating or exercising enough to keep your body warm, it happens. It’s the proverbial walk in their shoes thing. Hey I just thought–If Trump could spend a few miles in others’ moccasins, maybe he would have an epiphany! Am I expecting too much? It’s Monday, have to be positive!

Ceenphotography.com has new questions for us in Share Your World today. Join in!

1. My choice is green olives, definitely. The black ones taste spoiled, imo. However, if on a pizza they blend in, so tolerable. I have a granddaughter who is addicted to the black ones.

2. My favorite room used to be the kitchen when I was still standing, taking pride in cooking or baking for the family. Now it’s the bedroom out of necessity. However, ANY room, since this IS SYW and dreams allowed. . .you know it. . .a one room cabin. Oh, my yes!

3. I can’t think of any fictional family I would want to be a member of. Maybe the Downton Abbey household. . .but who? Hmmm, think I’ll pass on this.

Had company all weekend, and most of it was enjoyable. The problem I find as a constant sitter, is I get tired of looking up or being hovered over. Any other wheelchair bound people agree? I saw a scene in Amazon’s Agatha Christie’s “Ordeal of Innocence” series. A man in a wc refused to join in a party with his wife, stating that “. . .braying over my head while my face is at crotch level is not my idea of fun”. It sounds very rude, but it’s sometimes true in large groups.

I don’t know what I’m looking forward to this week. It certainly is not a continuation of the three phone call battle I had with United Health Care on Saturday. We complain about hard to understand accents, uninformed responders, but my frustration comes when three different people from the same “help” line tell you three different things. I take notes during these calls, ask their name and add the date and time so I have backup. They say you’re being recorded, but does anyone ever check what these supposedly knowledgeable people say? Ok, enough. I said I was going to be positive, dang. Maybe you’ll get a kick out of this:

“This is it!”

“Really? They look shorter than in the series. Think they will still work?”

“We can try. We didn’t come all this way not to try.”

The two middle aged women had been binging on the “Outlander” series and thought finding these stones and using them to find their own personal Scottish hero would be the end to their boring lives.

Saving up for over six months to make the pilgrimage to “the stones”, they were a bit disappointed in their size. However, not to be discouraged after travelling thousands of miles, they sat themselves down in front of the tallest ones. Giving each other a sideways glance, feeling overwhelming anticipation, each woman placed her hands on the stones and closed her eyes.

After a few anxious moments they opened them to see the stones they touched each had an addition. They looked at each other in a surprised, almost terrified expression.

The two stones were now occupied by two wee leprechaun-like figures. The ladies’ terrified looks were caused by the devilish lurid expressions on the little occupants’s faces.

FOWC : Neighbor

Ok, already did the Mr. Roger’s tune, so I could possibly speak about an insignificant incident that happened last week.

I was in the parking lot, waiting to be picked up. Since the people from FL have occupied both handicapped spaces (which they don’t need by the way since they live across the lot, upstairs, in the next building) do I sound angry? Who me? Dang right!

And as a side note, how long can you sport an out of state license without being unlawful? I complained about them hogging two spaces and the reply was, as long as they have a sticker they are welcome to be there.

Okay, so short story long, I’m in the lot waiting to be picked up in the middle of the lined zone where no one is supposed to park, sitting in the wc.

A man holding an apartment schematic walks by looking up, his wife way behind on her phone. I asked “can I help you find something?” And as some people often dismiss a child or a wc person, just ignored me and kept on looking up. The woman said, “yes, we’re going to see number 208, cause we’d like to live here. Do you live here?”

I responded, “yes, number 102, welcome to the neighborhood” and pointed her in the right direction. Then I noticed it was after 12 so maybe the man was just on his lunch break and in a hurry.

I think that was the correct assumption because after a few minutes they walked by again, together, smiling. She said, “we’re going to be neighbors”, with a big smile.

Cool.

Movie Monday

An old favorite starring an old favorite: “Raiders of the Lost Ark”.

Epic tale in which an intrepid archaeologist tries to beat a band of Nazis to a unique religious relic which is central to their plans for world domination. Battling against a snake phobia and a vengeful ex-girlfriend, Indiana Jones is in constant peril, making hair’s-breadth escapes at every turn in this celebration of the innocent adventure movies of an earlier era.
