The Secret Keeper #162 and MLMM Photo Challenge

(Secret Keeper words – lock, step, numb, past, and sound)

***

Here I sit, contemplating my past

Smoking the cancer stick

It’s too late now, why not enjoy my last lock on death

The silent sound of misery is here in flocks of crows mocking my presence

I can’t step away from my fate

I can only enjoy the numbness of my limited existence.

MLMM Bonus Wordle-D

Down the devilish dervish the dopamined derelict drenched himself with the diapason of heavy metal, trying to drown out the dispensation of the drizzling blood of his too often punctured arm.

In his stupor, the music could never be enough to keep him from the deafening darkness of his sordid life. He leaned back on the tattered piece of drywall contemplating what could have been, what he should have been, only hoping to drift away as a dried dandelion on the breeze.

Putting My Feet in the Dirt 9

Ever had something make you shiver and quiver?

Grab your stomach and ruin your liver?

Well that’s what happened to me

Sitting there unsuspectingly

Trying to forget a horrible day

Hoping lots of wine would take it away

But that didn’t happen, need I say

No, it insured my unusual fate.

Walking home I passed the stones

You know the ones, covering bones

Slightly askew, some pretentious

As if the interred was someone pious

And that’s when I felt it, made me shiver

My hair stood up, my hands aquiver

Something not easy to spy

Out of the corner of my eye

Sneaking around the imprinted boulders

Suddenly felt I wasn’t getting any older

Would succumb to this wannabe ghoul

Brandishing a scythe as his horrid tool

I stepped lively started to panic

My actions caused a trip, I was manic

I looked around, it had disappeared

I thought I was silly, showing such fear

Hurried home and now feeling not at all safe

As eerie itching on my neck, starts to chafe.

Haunted Wordsmith Challenge #9

(love, gift, fate)

She fingered the card, wondering if it would be a terrible idea, a witch doctor. Residing in New Orleans for almost five years, she had heard rumors of them. Relying on one to tell you your fate, determining what you might do to change it, all seemed a bit frightening.

Marie knew a few people who asked advice for love, and plenty who gave unsolicited council on the subject. What she needed now was the gift of an authentic shaman to make a decision.

She entered the establishment, surprisingly plain except for a number of gold framed mirrors. The man appeared to be normal, but had a familiar look. Possibly asking advice from this doctor would solve her problem. She failed to see the reverse side of the card before walking in. (Donald Trump, At Your Service).

Putting My Feet in the Dirt 8

Skipping along the dirt road, shuffling a few yellow leaves off to the side, little Mary was having a great day. “I don’t like you, you yellow oak leaves, I only like red maple leaves”, she said and kicked them aside when she found them. Mary was happy with herself, but not what you would describe as a nice little girl.

Autumn brought out the best of her worst, especially near Halloween. Mary delighted in dressing up for school parties or trick or treating and always told her mother exactly what her costume was going to be, and how it should look. Her classmates would vote her the best costume, mostly out of fear. They had sorry experiences of dealing with Mary and her “ways”.

This year the school was decked out in orange and black, pumpkins and ghouls, everything related to a fun Halloween party. Mary decided on a leprechaun costume, unusual for the autumn time, but it was spectacular. Of course she won the contest and never thanked her mother or her peers for the compliment.

Walking home from school, Mary was suddenly transported to the nearby field. To her amazement, real life green creatures started to pull her into the abandoned corn maze standing there. She tried to resist but had no choice as they dragged her into the labyrinth of the leprechauns. Try as she might to escape, her fate was told.

Mary’s disappearance was secretly celebrated by everyone who knew her well.

SYW 10-8-18 β„οΈπŸŒ¬πŸŒ¨πŸŒ«

As usual, we skip right over the autumn season here in Cheyenne and go straight to winter. Eighty degrees one day, forty the next. Here’s today’s weather:

And believe me, it’s the “real feel”! But a good day to read blogs, make comments not always appreciated, and bore you with my answers to the Share Your World questions. So here we go! And please participate, this is fun and I do want to get to know you!πŸ‘πŸ»

1. Do you prefer Apple products or Android for your technology fix?

I prefer Apple and have an iPad where I write, read and listen. However I can’t afford an iPhone and their plans are $$$ so I have a Samsung android phone. I also do the same things on it, but WP never recognizes my login from it, says I don’t exist.πŸ˜³πŸ™„

2. What’s something on your personal bucket list?

I have two things, hang gliding and visiting Vermont again.

3. What would you name your boat if you had one?

I shortened this question because I would never have a boat. I have waterskied, canoed and river rafted and enjoyed it, but being on the water now gives me a sinking feeling.πŸ˜‰

4. Which fictional character would be the most boring to meet in real life?

Carson from Downton Abbey.

5. What brought gratitude, a smile or laughter to your life this week?

Not taking the political arena into account here in the US, I have to say my family. We found good news at last and all’s right with our small bit of the world once again.
