Scott’s Daily Prompt: Torture, Text

It used to have the not long enough length

Then a coil you stretched to the end of its strength

Then a handy cordless type

Then pocket size to keep up with the hype

The latest news or listening to a friend’s delight

Voicemail torture nonending at night

And then to add pain came messages in text

Always interrupting, now what is next

With Apple watches you can view and read

While on your lunch, watch the time you need

Is it never enough the need to be “there”?

It leaves us all with no free time to spare.

MLMM Tale Weaver #195

She loved dance–all types of dance and loved to watch people dancing. At one time as a child she thought she might become a dancer. It didn’t bother the six year old child that she had two left feet. She would clear the rugs in the large dining room connected to the living room and pretend to be Ginger Rogers or Cyd Charisse. Watching black and white movies on an old television inspired her to be those women.

As a teenager she became more aware of her faults and shyness ruled over her previous abandon in dance. She turned to more practical endeavors and still watched from the sidelines.

SoCS 11-3-18

Point? Point? I’ll tell you the point! Get off your duff and vote!

Okay, it’s Saturday, it’s cold, it’s cloudy, it’s windy, three days into another month and winter is coming….not until 2019, but it’s definitely coming! I’m going to miss GoT but think the prequels if they come will be good.

I must say all the new Star Wars prequels don’t impress me. I rarely like prequels or stories that go back over and over again till you don’t know which end is up. The original is my favorite always. Reminds me of the old “Father of the Bride” with Spencer Tracey and Elizabeth Taylor. It’s subtle humor is my preference to the newer Steve Martin version. Guess I’m old….guess? What am I saying? I am old!

🍁No matter, have a great weekend!🍁

Screwing Native Americans again!

NPR reports:

Does this make you angry? I’ve been without a street address myself. Many small towns and areas do not have them. If you are a widow, divorced and don’t have renewed personal info on a government approved card that differs from your last time voting–is this fair? Taxation without representation? What do you think?

The Haunted Wordsmith 11-02-18

She plopped the whipped cream onto his pancakes. How he could stomach chocolate chip pancakes plus the cream fluff every morning was beyond her mind, but it kept the relationship sane. Life with Jeremy wasn’t easy, he wasn’t your typical child. He had a wild imagination and her only respite was the hours of the week he attended school. In class he was the optimum example of a student. He completed assignments quickly, never had homework, and played well with others.

Typically she spent her days quietly, contemplating life through the microcosm of a crystal ball by the window. If there were few clouds, her morning observation was bright and cheery. This was one of those days. She greeted the day and set her uninterrupted hours schedule by the ball in the window. She had no calendar or cell phone or computer to tell her what she should expect or choose.

If the ball shown bright as it is today, it was gardening, admiring nature around her small home and enjoying the outdoors free from distraction. Her garden was as far into the real world she ever stepped. If it was cloudy or dark, she remained inside, reading, painting or cooking. Everyday her routine never varied from what the ball suggested.
