MLMM Wordle 11-19-18

The director of the company had a strict black and white attitude and took no suggestions from any marplots in the acting field. No one really dared to overwrite his decisions anyway, they just periodically cleared their throats or sighed loudly.

This was not lost on the director but he fixed the stress of it by “ahemming” in a trebled tone that got everyone’s attention. The small theater group could have been a bright asteroid in the state if it weren’t for the dark cloud limitations of its director.

11 Questions – All About Life

I took a left turn at Fandango and ended up on this post from https://allaboutlife.com. She posted eleven questions I think would be fun to answer:

***

1. Since my legs and feet are always cold, I love them! However I can’t sleep in them, too claustrophobic!

2. Each to his own on this one. I think there’s something but I don’t know exactly what. I don’t like separate religions thinking they have the one true god, doesn’t seem logical. Goes along with my theory that all the pictures of Jesus being a white man with red brown hair is ridiculous. Don’t get me started…

3. Absolutely not. Might as well eat bread crusts.

4. I don’t think I have a favorite. Unlike Fandango, certainly no romantic association with one.

5. Did you see the latest pic from Nasa about what might be a cylindrical probe from the great beyond? I think we are not alone.

6. I never had a teddy bear. I do now though. His name is Brownie and was given to me by my grandkids last time I had cancer.

7. I love Brussels sprouts and most vegetables, except okra, yuck!

8. I love Christmas, hate the hype surrounding it. Nostalgic for the huge family gatherings I had as a child. It is my favorite holiday.

9. A smile is always your best thing!

10. My family

11. Autumn is my favorite season.

FOWC : Shed

A shed, a wood shed to house what else? Wood–also large oak barrels in the rafters full of every kind of thing you can imagine. There were dishes, blankets, clothes, papers, books, and each one made a nice nesting place for all the cats and kittens that were left at our farm.

The wood shed in tales has a bad reputation for being the place of punishment. We were a family of girls and I don’t remember anyone being “taken out to the shed” for a beating, but it might have happened. We were spanked and there was always the threat of the razor strap hanging in plain sight as a reminder to behave. My mom’s choice was to tell you to go out and pick a switch which was a bush branch. She always added it better be big enough or I’ll pick one. As far as punishments go, I didn’t receive many because I learned from my older sisters’ actions and the results.

The shed mostly housed wood which was used by my grandfather in their adjacent apartment to our large home. Their wood stove always smelled fantastic and baking in the oven, let’s just say there’s nothing like it.

The wood shed was connected to my grandparents’ apartment but had large doors to open onto the yard. I can remember a few curious kittens exploring only to end up in the walls between the shed and my grandparents.

I miss that farm, the land, the animals, and the buildings.

Tea, Romaine, what else?

I just saw a notice about romaine lettuce which I have been using exclusively at home for about four years. It’s supposed to be healthier and more nutritious than iceberg lettuce.

Why is it just when you think it’s safe to go back in the water…(Jaws theme in background)…this happens–from the Washington Post:

***

And while researching that tea I mentioned a while back, the O brand of organic tea, found a lot of teas are not “safe”.

I’ve used Stash as it is readily available here. I’ve never thought much about teas being safe. I usually choose by flavor.

Is it not enough we have to scour every label, freshness date, etc to lengthen the already boring job of grocery shopping? It’s not my idea of fun, and now it’s becoming as dreaded as the yearly flu shot! Which of course I just read that huge numbers of people died from getting one last year.

So are we to hole up in our caves, grow our own veggies, and fruit, bake our own bread, raise our own livestock–the list goes on and on.

New research, virologists, scientists all, I respect your hard work, but really, is anything really safe anymore?

And if you really want to freak out, watch Amazon’s Regenesis ; )

FFfAW Challenge #192

Two benches, joined by a trash container? All looped together for convenience, but covered in snow, as yet undisturbed by the day. What do we make of this? Is it a symbol for everyday life? Is it the benches providing comfort and rest in a weary world but left empty because of the contamination of a trash bin? Wooden crafted to hide its contents, yet odors seep out.

Life it is, today, here in America. A presidency dressed in red, white and blue to appease, but divided by speech and texting and tweeting. The odor no longer seeps, it pours.

The Haunted Wordsmith FTS – Penney

My part:

That evening as the Salvation Army Santa Claus emptied his kettle into the bank deposit box, he noticed one of the coins sparkled. He thought it was his tired eyes, playing a trick on him, but there it was, almost begging him to retrieve it. He hesitated only a second or two and then took the penney.

Retiring for the night where he now called home–a shelter for the homeless–he wearily sat down on the blanketed cot and eyed the coin once again. He hoped he wouldn’t be harshly judged by the Almighty for keeping this penney, for indeed it had called to him. Turning it over to read the mint mark and the year, he saw something scratched into the copper.

I think I’m the only one in the fam that hasn’t seen it yet. They all give rave reviews. They know I really get into movies emotionally, so it’s better I watch this on DVD in my own home!๐Ÿ˜‚

The younger generation loves this particular song from the movie:
