700 Sundays

I’ve been a Billy Crystal fan for ages. He’s a couple of years younger, but I relate well to a special from his book of the same name, “700 Sundays”. It will make you laugh and cry, sometimes at the same moment. I am a comedy lover and so much of this is a reminder of why. I hope you enjoy it. Below is an interview talking about the movie.

SoCS June 29, 2019

I write this date and cannot think where this year has gone already. Half over and someone talked about Christmas shopping? I must be dreaming. It’s finally warm and sunny and I hope our daily thunder and hailstorms are done. The prompt for this week is for, four, fore and I offer this:

And as I was looking for that, I found an old Gary Larson cartoon, a bonus!

Remember to laugh this weekend!👍🏻

Secrets of Plastic

Well here we are again, Unie, you’d think they could at least put us in the shade! My bright pink is beginning to fade and you know what that means. Kids won’t like you anymore because you’re not bright and shiny and you’re dumped into the bin. At least you won’t change color as fast, so you’re good.

It is blazing hot out here. I think I’m beginning to melt. Hey Unie, are you listening? Here they come again. Thank goodness we can cool off in the sea.

Oh my god, the big one jumped on me. I’m split! Pssssfttt.

How far do you think he’ll go?

Well at least as far as old lady Smith’s porch, that’s all we need!
Okay, are we ready to launch?
The wild opossum was unaware of his upcoming flight. He wiggled in the boy’s arms to get free, but suddenly found himself bound up in lacrosse netting.
The joy on the boys’ faces was visible as they heard a plop and a scream.

MLMM Tale Weaver #229

“A perfect moon overhead my darling.” He gathered her robes about her. The night was chilled, but she barely felt the cold. All she could think was they had finally completed their journey. It had been days on the old horse, plodding along and often tripping, sending her forward unexpectedly. She was glad for each evening’s respite of the soft grass.

The couple was on their way to the castle where Marie’s father was King. Accompanied by a knight, John, Marie had no expectation her marriage plans would be denied. She fell in love with John immediately and the two were traveling to be wed at the castle.

Marie had been schooled with proper etiquette and the two of them traveling together without a chaperone might be frowned upon by her parents. They both were willing to take the chance. The morning sun would bring either happiness or tragedy. Snuggling close, they fell asleep.

Sun and morning dew surrounded them. John had readied the horses by the time Marie woke. It was only a few hours before she would see her family and no anxiety entered her mind. John was not so calm, thinking he might not be the King’s choice for his daughter. Nevertheless, the decision had been made and he was not regretting it now. The future was uncertain in all except his love for Marie.

Roses are red

Violets are purple

I love my treats

They make me slurple.

We gathered together

To make a decision

Who should be elected

‘Cause we need revision.

The larger cousins want Mayor Cheese

Being rats, they’re easy to please

My buddies residing in this cage

Want something more new age

Such as crumbs tartare rubbed with sage

That make pleasant leavings here in the cage

Providers of these treats would be

Mayor Guinea Pig and Company.

Rabbits and gerbils all insist

To get out and vote, even resist!

Our choice for mayor should reflect

The outcome we want and expect.
