Daily Prompt:  Timely

WiFi fixed, now my phones acting up

What is it with all this digital muck?

Maybe it’s time to set my life on rewind

Get an old rotary phone with a landline.

Then at least my fax would work.

Doesn’t now, printer’s a jerk

I use the app AirPrint, usually works well

But since the new WiFi, it’s all gone to hell.

Nothing is working, certainly not timely

Wish it was as before, working sublimely.

A to Z Challenge – K for Kids

No, not the little goats, children!  I had three, two boys and a girl, perfect! My oldest is turning fifty next week!  Who would have thought it would pass so fast?  Not that I thought that ALL the time.  There were instances when having a four, two and one year old were very difficult.  And that was with as near ideal children as you could ask for.

Expecting the white coats to arrive at any time, I sympathize with young parents now.  I was in the situation of a strange state, new neighborhood, no car, no family, no friends and didn’t always know if I would make it.  People joke about it, but when you’re a mother with a busy, working husband, it can be hard to cope.  Having a super mom for an example, I expected I would be the same, and wanted to be.  Everything had to be perfect, house, dinners, clothes, everything neat and clean always.  Kids behavior excellent also.  Impossible you think.  Yes it was, and it took me years to realize that.  I don’t  have any idea how we all survived but we did.  We are all happy and doing well.  Miracles do happen.  It might not have been perfection, but we all tried our best. And as I’ve written here many times, I’m very proud of them all.

Sometimes when I see a parent at their “wits’ end”, I think if only they could have someone give them a break.  Take the kids for even a half hour, so they can relax for a minute to calm down. I would have liked to do that for them. I could have used that half hour at times, and my kids were well behaved.

Tale Weaver -It’s Party Time!

July 4th would be my date for an unbirthday party. The reason being that for over forty years my July 4th activities were chosen for me. This gives me the opportunity to make a plan for myself. Yes, just me!

Part one: Everyone is invited but you must participate in one of my favorite activities, a scavenger hunt. The list will be twenty items long and whoever returns first with everything on the list wins a super prize….tadah! The prize is a trip for two anywhere your heart desires, here on earth, or either of two planet choices, Mars or Venus. The prize is all expenses paid, including gratuities.

Part two: Refreshments.  My unbirthday includes any type of drink or snack you wish. You simply say it out loud and it magically appears. There are no limits to this.

Part three: An unbirthday has no cake, but my favorite desserts will be on display including rhubarb pie and lemon meringue pie, maple nut fudge, gingerbread, and coffee ice cream.  You may also choose to roast your own marshmallows, campfires available. These are my particular favorites so I hope you all partake.

Part four: Dancing is also on the agenda. Any kind of music you want to dance to, need only to be thought of and you and your partner will hear that particular music. Each dancing couple or group will be able to dance to their own choice of music that only they will be able to hear.

Please dress comfortably and plan on staying for the fireworks. The party starts at four pm. The scavenger hunt is a requirement and begins at six pm sharp.

RSVP: 1-800-myparty

Daily Prompt:  Pleased

Today my granddaughter turns nineteen.  Looking for some birthday paper I came across this picture of her from years ago….she might not appreciate me sharing it, but the look on her face just says “pleased” to me.  Among her many talents, she loves history, plays drums and other percussion instruments, artist in many mediums, Daniels Scholarship winner last year, going to UNC, Harry Potter, Michael Jackson, Twenty-one Pilots, Doctor Who, and is a voracious reader.  She volunteers for various activities and the picture of her in the t-shirt was one of her early ones, GREAT( Gang Resistance Education And Training).  The last two years she has organized  Cancer Relays.  I had to kid her about her pic on the right.  I said she went from preteens to vice cop in a few short years.😂 Happy Birthday!🎉🎊🌸💗💓

Prompt 24

Hey son, put down that remote

Gramps and I are taking the boat

Want to go fishing?

No use wishing,

Waiting for that girl to call,

She’s likely with her friends at the mall.

Come on now, don’t be a grouch

Get your keister off the couch!

We might catch dinner while we float.

You, me and Gramps, in the fishing boat.
