Tuesday, and the home was all aflutter. Old men donning shirts and ties instead of the casual pajama outfits and the ladies, well, you would have to see it to believe it! Gowns from the fifties, sixties, extreme accessories of long stored heavy jewelry, and youth donned in white gogo boots. It was an exceptional sight.
Previously, the eccentricity of the nursing home residents had gone unnoticed, but a few young nurses decided it was time to spice things up, and the idea of a special evening was born. A disco ball hung above the banquet fare, now offering tasteful treats instead of the usual nondescript foods. Music blared and it seemed to rejuvenate old bones into dancing. The nurses stood on the sidelines smiling.
