Three Line Tales – The Wait

The cold of the day doesn’t touch me. The mist hitting my face doesn’t deter me. The foggy sky doesn’t discourage my search. Wave after wave, an incessant barrage of my shoes, could not chill me more.

You’re out there, I know you are. You left me here to wait. An interminable wait, quite unfeeling of you, when I let myself believe it. The fantasy, sailing to an undetermined island where a romantic life together would be enough to sustain us.

Well here I am, waiting, alone, watching for just a glimpse of your sail. I know you’re out there.
