Now telling you the truth
Wishing I was a liar
It was easier in my youth
When your love was like fire.
Embers that should not flame
The start of disassemble
Myself should take the blame
Your touch such preamble.
I should have stayed a nomad
Never stopping at your vision
My heart so suddenly unclad
Now regrets a bad decision.
Love is fickle, never lasts.

No soirée, no birthday gathering for my granddaughter turning twenty-two today. No homemade cake at my house as usual. No hot cheesy pizza to share among the twelve of us that live close to each other. She graduates from college this year and how disappointing to work hard with studies and jobs for four years and no ceremonial reward. Plans for further college education next fall also up in the air. A trying time for her, but nothing new or unusual for people all over the world today.
There will be cake, music and games at her home with live-in family and younger siblings. So maybe not a soirée but a celebration of sorts. Happy birthday Saeda!

Happy Easter everyone!🌸

She watched his expression fade as his wounds continued to bleed. He took her warning as a joke–the wheel was fine, the tire seam was not splitting, the valve would stay intact, and he took the next left at high speed. If he had heeded her warning, he would be alive today.
Shana’s boyfriend was always a daredevil; she thought it came from his family roots of motorcycle enthusiasts from way back. As the paramedics treated him, she knew he was gone. The last thing she would remember was a flashy smile he gave her just before he made that fateful turn.

Our city council has important business while our (Trump loving) governor ignores early medical expert warnings.

The bus was ready to leave. Joe looked anxiously at the street. All he wanted was to be free and he couldn’t be here, not with them.
Thinking they did it for love, his parents tried to rule his every movement, even his thoughts were not his own. Living life at seventeen was supposed to be the best time of his life but with his overbearing parents, he saw none of that.
Joe had secretly saved enough to take the bus to a different state, away from his oppressive parents.

She was born in a leap year which seemed to spell out her future. Her hair was orange red and her cheeks were splayed raspberries over pale skin. Her childhood flew by as quickly as a flooded stream. While her parents worked tirelessly providing for their daughter, they hoped their bohemian lifestyle would balance their daughter’s exceptional intelligence. They wanted the best of all worlds for her.

The same loving touch
Causing different sensations

The possibility she would see him as she entered the ballroom made her blush. The delicate pink on her cheeks matched the frilly gown she had chosen. Crossing the room, observing the sharply dressed soldiers, she took a seat next to the orchestra for a better view. Only two minutes passed until her uniformed dream asked her to dance.
