FFftPP – A Conversation

A beautiful morning, wouldn’t you say, George?

Certainly it ’tis, my darling. Should we fly over the city to see what’s going on? The protests don’t seem to be changing anyone’s mind. What do you think?

Humans will not change. They will never accept others that don’t fit their personal idea of “normal standards”. They judge too often and are not accepting. The animal world is more easy going. But still, the strongest in any case survives.

We are lucky, Sam. We can love each other and our avian community doesn’t give a whit that we are both males. Whoa, see that? A nice fat mouse in the field! Let’s have breakfast before we go sightseeing. Are you with me?

Lead the way, George, my beak is watering already!

Sirens

We hear them in the middle of the night, or in twilight hours when all seems calm, when the constant rocking motion should be lulling the crew to sleep. The waves are green glass mirrors, reflecting the small ship, and carry the inviting notes into our heads.

We make our living on the water, so after a hard day at sea, sirens are the last thing we want to hear. We try to drown them out with laughter and games, but our ears never escape their haunting song.

MLMM Wordle 194 –

The beautiful girl’s stridulent voice was her downfall. Even the backwards, informal virtues that might attract possible boyfriends were soon wet with disappointed tears. There was only one resilient suitor who would attach himself to a romantic relationship with Sara. Her spoken wedding vows were a wash since he was deaf, but as their marriage went on, Sara learned sign language and they got on very well.
