What Day is it? One to Relax. . .

With all that’s happening I love to listen to music and music videos promoted on your posts. They usually lead me to another bit of music I haven’t heard or seen before or at least in a long time.

That’s the great part! Today “Dizzy” on Dan’s site led me to Jerry Reed’s “Dont Think Twice, It’s Alright” with a great harmonica solo and then this. Who else could ever look more absolutely relaxed playing the guitar than BB King?

Enjoy!

SoCS 6-20-20

When I read it was Friday, I was shocked. I missed Thursday altogether! I was probably late or off on all posts this week. Reading emails I often get a day ahead of me posts because of different locations, but today I was just out of it–actually not that unusualπŸ€ͺ

Back to the ZZ prompt. I am probably not the only one to think ZZ Top, but I’m going with Dire Straits instead–“Once Upon a Time in the West”:

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS June 20/2020

MLMM First Line Friday 6-19-20

Jaime spent the whole day browsing the antique store and left with just one thing. It was only a small item, but he had been searching for it many years.

When his old next door neighbor babysat Jamie, he would serve him tea and cookies. The tea cups were painted with an unusual design–a snake curled around the cup. Jamie was fascinated by the image and would turn the finished cup around and around, thinking it might come alive from the warmth of the tea.

It was a short ride on the bus to his apartment building and he couldn’t wait to make tea and use the special cup. The saucer was not to be found in the antique store but Jamie had others to use. He brewed his favorite Earl Grey and poured it into the cup.

It was only the next day when his mother came to visit that Jamie’s demise was discovered. She walked into his kitchen to find him slumped over the table beside an empty tea cup. The cup and saucer were white, with one red spot for decoration. The red spot resembled a drop of blood.

Fandango’s Friday Flashback 6-19-20

Share Your World – 6-19-2017

1. What is something people are obsessed with that you just don’t get?

For me it has to be fishing. I don’t like it. It’s boring, it smells, you get icky if you bait a hook (icky being a technical term). I think catch and release is like torture for the fish. Some of this relates to being forced to sit in a small boat in hot and humid weather, with my parents while they enjoyed fishing. This happened often. Not to be rude, but I hated it.

2. What quirky things do people do where you are from?

People in Wyoming are a bit quirky about the use of firearms. But one thing that has stood out for my family is: no driver seems to be able to figure out how to navigate a roundabout. They either sit at the yield thinking it’s a stop sign, or can’t figure out which direction they are going in or want to be going in, or they blast ahead ignoring everyone else.πŸš—πŸŽπŸššβ“πŸ‘‰πŸ»πŸ‘†πŸΎπŸ‘‡πŸ‘ˆπŸ»β“πŸ€

3. What things would you unlearn?

I would unlearn being critical of myself. I would be able to look at myself in the mirror and think, β€œok, you are ok”.

4. Who is someone you miss having in your life?

I miss a couple of good friends that I live far away from now. They made life much easier and more fun.

5. What are you grateful for from last week and what are you looking forward to this week?

I’m always grateful for time spent with my grandkids, but this week I spent some alone time with my daughter which was very special.

I am grateful my grandson is home from youth camp so we can spend some time together. One thing he said today as he dropped off my mail surprised me. I asked what he enjoyed most at the camp after he spoke about the activities of, swimming, rope challenge, zipline, singing, music, games, etc. He answered, the group discussions about life and Jesus. At seventeen I always knew he had a soft heart, but I guess he’s also an old soul. πŸ’ž

MLMM Tale Weaver 6-18-20

I thought it was just the ticket, but my happiness was not to be fulfilled. One of my favorite performers was coming to Denver for a one night show. I had asked him a few times to come to my area since years ago he had come to Wyoming. He was to be in a blues club in downtown Denver. I bought two tickets in advance and was waiting to go when I could not find a ride to the club. It is about two hours from me but I thought surely I would be able to find someone to give me a ride.

About three days before the event I finally put the tickets on my FB site hoping my Denver relatives would take advantage of the free tickets, since I’d given up on thinking I could get a ride. The two people near me that would drive me were willing, but not 21, so wouldn’t be allowed in the club with me.

As a result I lost out on the show, the ticket money spent and it was all a big disappointment, but I learned not to buy in advance. I wrote the performer telling him I was sorry to miss his gig, but he replied, someone get that girl a Uber! It was funny as I told him there aren’t any services like that where I am.

FOWC: Glide

He’ll never fall, admit his flaws

He treads heavy with open maw

Nothing ever his own fault

Takes credit for all good in the vault

Knows no history of any state

Takes no notice of mistakes

Chimes in always with false facts

Says he’s always done good acts

I doubt he’ll ever leave or hide

He lies, blames and hopes to glide

Over every comment he spouts snide

And rule again hitting his stride.

Look what’s happened to us in the last four years😣
