FOWC: Nearly

Sometimes my sense of humor doesn’t jive with others. An example of that is the post I put on yesterday with a clip from a well known movie with Monty Python. MP is one of those “you either love them or hate them” groups, but we have always loved them.

The night before with no sleep and after rising, coffee and shower, much better. So as ever, a line just pops into my head and I share it.

Then last night not sleeping again, thought, that was probably an insensitive clip considering the news every day. So my apologies to anyone offended.

I nearly always find myself struggling with appropriateness while trying to bring humor, but it isn’t the first time, won’t be the last, I’m sure.

What Day is it Anyway?

It is Wednesday and another night of no sleep. I finally turned the light back on at 2:30 and did some crossword puzzles. At 7:00 I got up had coffee and showered.

Going through some old recipes I printed out years ago found two important papers I’ve been looking for since 2013. In a bunch of papers stuffed in a cookbook! With the way my brain has been since that year, I’m not actually surprised. . .but

I’m feeling much better now.

MLMM Photo Challenge 7-14-20

He didn’t know why he kept them. The roses faded and dry, and the bottle contents surely spoiled by now, but he couldn’t throw them away. Seeing them on her bureau every night was both a lovely reminder and a searing pain of guilt. He missed her so much and the regrets sometimes overwhelmed him. The tears of remorse he shed were no consolation. He bent to sniff the roses once more, opened the perfume and the memories washed over him, again.

Waste of Youth

***

Sitting in the doorway, mother by her side

Evicted by authority

Now they have no place to hide

Small dirty belongings surround them

All that they could grab

Before forcibly removed from what they used to have

This is her future and her past

No childhood dreams of a ballet dance

She’s nine years old and she never had a chance.
