Go Dog Go Cafe Haibun – Spring

***

Spring in New England is a win lose situation. The win is the scent in the air of sugar maple tree sap that is gathered and made into syrup. The lose is it’s mud season!

freeze thaw, freeze again

dirt road ruts unpassable

“love spring” condition

dVerse Poets –

So what is anaphora? This is what Wikipedia says: anaphora (Greek: ἀναφορά, “carrying back”) is a rhetorical device that consists of repeating a sequence of words at the beginnings of neighboring clauses, thereby lending them emphasis

Stars are shining bright and granting wishes, they say

Stars are so far away, still listening to our pleas

Stars are brilliant, we tell children, even though they are thousands of years old

Stars are brightening a black sky, granting wishes and inspiring

Stars are a distant truth that we peer at, and hope for change

A2Z Disability and Energy

A person with a disability, take me for example😂, sometimes has their capacity of energy used up by the time they have gotten out of bed, showered, dressed and made the bed. My sister says that I forget adding age into the fact. I never add age into it, who needs that?

Since the pandemic, political deterioration and ongoing general apathy for our fellow man, I think frustration is also sapping my energy. Being discouraged by events takes a toll on my well being or maybe it’s having too much time to think.🙄😵‍💫I know you can’t tell I think a lot by my posts😂, guess I’ll have to end this post with a cartoon.

⚠️⚠️Rant😡⚠️⚠️

I am soooo tired of these Republican congress persons berating people in the military and acting like teenage spoiled brats, bullying, accusing, whining, and spouting garbage out of their privileged mouths, I can’t even read a news story anymore. It is too frustrating! Getz and Greene and others never served in the military, so why are they even entitled to an opinion and who is it coming from?

From “Vanity Fair“

How do these sickening excuses for government representation even get elected?

They are disgusting (human) beings and should not be allowed in ANY government office.

The Sunday Whirl

***

Joey moved to the window since sleep was not coming, again. He was much older than his years and the void of his missing mother seemed too strong at night. In the day he could laugh and pretend with his dad, watch him try to fill it, teaching him his mother’s way of doing things, even cooking, and the sorrow was remote for a while.

Standing by the sill, his fingertips unconsciously tracing patterns and lines in the condensation, he remembered each special moment he had with her. He brushed the lines away, and the tears started over again.

He pleaded with the moon and that single bright star to bring her back, to ease his pain. Then as if on cue, his dad came in behind him and held him tightly. “I miss her terribly too, Joey.”

Winds ramped up,
Detached the spheres of color
In leaf piles, awaiting death in plastic bags or funeral pyres
Such a shame, such sadness for my heart
What once adorned plain brown limbs with incredible colors, and shapes
Now reduced to blackened ash debris.
