Open your arms
Open your eyes
Open your mind
And always open your heart.♥️

Hope you all had a nice day this Easter Sunday. I sure did and here’s a new song I heard from the grands today♥️ I dare you to try sitting still listening to this music 😂

By Joyce Kilmer “I think that I shall never see. A poem lovely as a tree.”
I certainly have to agree with the words of this poem.
Growing up where I could wander aimlessly through varied trees in a forest—climb them, sit or lean on them, build a treehouse in them, and watch birds and animals enjoy them too, was a precious gift.
The scent of different barks and leaves, deciduous or evergreen, all were displayed differently in my four season atmosphere.
Spring light green leaves unfurled to bright shiny emerald greens in summer while all colors of autumn leaves continue to be my favorite, but even the silent bare limbs of winter spoke their secrets.
Trees are a wonder, a rewarding stability in our changing environment and need to be respected and nourished.

As a person who grew up with the gift of land all around me, and lived in cities since 19, I much appreciate these thoughts: REBLOG!☺️
First of all, apologies for the video quality but when the sun went in it kept me in silhouette and I prefer to see less of me.
This is a poem called Turf Wars. It’s about the modern tendency to rip up grass, either to park cars or avoid mowing. Sometimes it’s necessary or understandable but it’s happening too often. Or at least you’d feel that way if you were a bee or butterfly.
Anyway, a few thoughts…
A Turf War’s going on out there/The bees are lost the worms are scared/The blackbirds starve because some berk/Ripped up his turf to park his Merc/He put in plastic gravel slate/Some cameras on his garden gate/He’s never seen a thrush or crow/He never misses Ocado/We want to build more potting sheds/We want to dig more flower beds/We want to replace slabs with turf/ Dig up the gravel and dump some earth/Grow sunflowers…

The ship rocked in the rain and storm, but she felt no fear, instead she once again folded her legs up against her chest. The lingering, here beside him, a stretch of his arms around her, had opened that narrow door to her heart. He had opened the space with his words and gestures. He had placed himself inside it, as beautiful an action as placing fragrant roses in a empty vase.

A baby shower for my first great grandchild was held this month. Attended by both families, and friends, it was a very nice occasion. Being the first to both grandmothers and great grandmothers, there were many gifts. A few handmade quilts, blankets and every necessity of the day. I marveled thinking of my first child when an old wooden crib was the extent of our “necessities”. A cute gift from a new doctor was a set of children’s books featuring a lexicon of germs, cells, and vaccines.

“Arise you masters of Easter eggs! Drop those mobile telephones, turn off those laptops and get your jackets on! Everything indoors is irrelevant today! You know how I abhor staying inside on a Sunday like this…feel that sunshine! Now grab a basket and let’s get hunting!”

Twelve inches eh? Is that how you were trained? I should take your name off the roster right now! Any pigskin oval is going to keep on moving when you just set it down sloppily like you did…so much for a chance at the super dish!
***A tongue in cheek response today😂
