These are our family’s choices for celebrations or holidays:
1. Turkey and dressing
2. Ham or BBQ burgers
3. Cake or Pie
4. Sweet and white potatoes
5. Fruit salad
Pretty simple home cooking for a large group, but everyone is happy with the tradition and the person being celebrated always has their favorites by flavor, etc.☺️
I stood there in front of the tree, remembering the day my friend Bob decided to prove the rest of us all cowards as he jumped on that bike. He drove without a helmet or proper clothes and I even saw him wearing flip flops one time. He drove fast and recklessly, just the way he did everything in life, wild and carefree. Me and our other friends had stricter parents and we wouldn’t ever want to be caught riding a motorcycle, but Bob’s parents? They just let him do whatever he wanted. I think they regret that now. They decided to leave the bike right where the fatal accident happened as a memorial of sorts and a reminder to other kids.
Watched “Den of Thieves” this weekend and saw Gerard Butler (beloved Mike from the “Olympus is Down” series) playing a relatively disgusting cop and there are many other faces you will recognize. It is violent, lots of guns, action.
Discovered in 2018 by NASA’s Transiting Exoplanet Satellite Survey (TESS) mission, planet LHS 3844b is located 48.6 light-years from Earth and has a radius 1.3 times that of Earth.
She was sometimes adept at many things and never attempted anything she knew would fail. It was a physics class and the alchemy of metal that drew her to the bar that evening. She wanted to find a drunk employee from the bank, an easily fooled man with access to gold and silver coins. She hoped to cajole him into showing her some while she distracted him long enough to pocket a few. As she sat by him at the bar retrieving a peanut snack from her décolletage, she gained his full attention.
If it hadn’t been for him tripping over a dirt clod in the bar’s parking lot, then falling on the pavement causing his unconsciousness, she almost had her task completed. Instead she left him there and got into her car and drove away.
All that was missing was the confetti. Families gathered all around, each telling their version of the game. It was the end of the season with all inexperienced members on the team except two, so the season was long and sometimes disappointing. The last game before regionals one of the more learned team members scored a goal and everyone was elated! The luncheon was full of rewarding chatter and new hopes for the next season. This was the best part of high school sports.
