I watched Nicola Walker, a favorite PBS Masterpiece Theatre actor in “ANNIKA” this week. She is always believable and in this series she also plays a detective, but the set is different and interesting. The action is sometimes in the background as she turns to you, the observer to speak. It is filmed in Glasgow, Scotland. The series was short and I hope it is continued.

Cheyenne Wyoming is a well used omphalos of railroad traffic going on an west-east route across country. Sounds of the trains are comforting.

“The construction of the Union Pacific Railroad across Wyoming from 1867 to 1868 opened the state to permanent settlement, and Cheyenne was incorporated in the fall of 1867. It quickly developed into a hub for shipping and railroad maintenance.”

Cheyenne is also an omphalos for the Veterans’ Hospitals in surrounding states. “The Cheyenne Veterans Affairs Health Care System…moving forward with the preparation for Northern Colorado VA “Super Clinic”.

There was a steady increasing volume of crowd noise outside. The obsequious chamber member stood up to the speaker’s podium. No one expected him to blast his opponent but he did with pleasure. “Ladies and gentlemen of the Senate, I would advise you to walk, run, or trot out of this area immediately. It seems the MAGA people are gathering outside again.”

It was almost spellbinding, the translucent power seen as the beautiful, sacred journey she traveled every day. Any direction was available beneath the blue green saltwater. She never ventured too far north as freezing tides did not appeal to her, even though she knew many of the order who enjoyed the cold. She preferred tropical waters where she would search among many humans playing and splashing. It was then she meandered near and stung them with hits of pain. Her beauty and grace a false presentation as she struck like thunder.

Martha was never what you would call fluid.

She was tall and lanky with large hands and feet.

School was a nightmare and having a boyfriend was out of the question because she was taller than any of them.

Martha excelled in a few track related sports where her clumsiness finally turned into talent.

Her long legs performed well in the long jump, hurdles and long distance running.

Her body finally reconciled as Martha received an award for the best pole vault height in the school’s history.
