FOWC: Arbitrary

She looked down her nose, with eyes on the hose

“How crude!” she spewed and spouted so rude

Saw the stockings blue net, looked almost wet

Clinging as they were to the lady’s derrière

“My gawd”, she exclaimed as if she was maimed

By the other’s appearance causing much interference

But the net legged lady wasn’t bothered, but ready

With a handy witticism to answer the criticism

“You may think I’m contrary since your clothes never vary

But I like the contemporary. You may think arbitrary

You should try it sometime, and not think it a crime

I dress as I will. . .I like to thrill

And am not willing to fill

Your expectations.”

Fandango’s Friday Flashback July 24, 2017

Good morning from nicely cool, Wyoming! I wish we had a long soft rain to go with it, but you can’t have everything! I hope you all have a great start to the week! Ceenphotography.com has more interesting questions for us, so let’s get started! Thank you again, Cee, for giving us this fun quiz each week!💓🌸As I’m writing this, the Thunderbirds are practicing above me. I love them! They perform here for Cheyenne Frontier Days. Spectacular!

1. List some of your favorite types of teas.

I have a British friend who states there is only one TEA. I love Earl Grey, hot, but in summer, I like Bigelow Plantation Mint, iced of course – it has a very cool and refreshing taste, and Peach. Tea and lemonade combined I also like.

2. If you had to describe your day in a traffic sign, what would it be?

3. What are a couple of things someone could do for you on a really bad day that would help you?

Talk to me, go out for a meal, go to a movie I wouldn’t usually go to, like a cheesy horror film? Sometimes I just need to be alone.

4. Regardless of your physical fitness, coordination, or agility: if you could be an athlete, what would you do?

If it has to be a sport, a long distance runner. Otherwise, a dancer.

I am grateful that I had time with my family this last week. This week I’m looking forward to getting some Palisade peaches from the Grants Farm market here. They were supposed to be in on Saturday. Below: Palisade, Colorado

MLMM Tale Weaver – Forgiveness

Asking for forgiveness is a “hard pill to swallow (plural hard pills to swallow) (idiomatic) Something that is difficult to accept.“

I like to be right, and some of the time I like to argue if I think I’m right. I look at as a fun thing and I learn more about the issue, myself and the others in the discussion. Lately it’s no fun at all.

About a year ago I displayed actions when I thought I was right, and it was directed at no one in particular, but I ended up apologizing to the person I was with. I won’t go into details because they do not matter. The fact is I was wrong to voice my frustrations and had to admit it. I asked for forgiveness from my companion, and of course I received it, but even now, months later, I think, why did I do it?

Since 2014 when my life changed completely, and I had to accept that was going to be the norm, I have been depressed and sometimes angry because of it. Rarely, thank heavens, such in the case above, it shows its ugly self with my voice. You may think I sound preachy at times, but I only want you to appreciate what you have because it may all be gone tomorrow. Asking for forgiveness won’t kill you but the lack of doing so will definitely hurt you.

Word of the Day: Grace

There are many forms of grace.

***

A four year old

Wearing a tutu

With ballerina dreams

Finds it’s not easy as it seems.

A racing horse, a

Beauty on the run

Long legs leaping faster

Roses only go to one.

Infant water babies and

Tan bathing beauties dance

At the pool on summer days

Synchronizing movements in the waves.

Meadows struck with breezes

Make flower petals bend

Waving to and fro

Wishing summer never ends.

dVerse Poets – Revolution

When I read this prompt I thought to myself, no way, I can’t start, because if I do, I won’t be able to stop. Then of course, the news.

**

Raise or burn your flags

Paint a sign of dissent or cower

No one wants to see, but all are looking

No one really wants to know but can’t stop reading

And lives lost or bartered for ransom?

Sing your songs or listen in closets

Brandish your weapons, scream your insults, defy medical advice, don’t worry about your children, what they see and hear, quell their fear with words of hate.

Is this a revolution? Where is sanity? Even if we forget about the whole “love your neighbor” idea, what can violent actions accomplish?

While our lying conspirator sits in the most important house in our land, housed and fed by us, safe and sound, spits on our forefathers’ ideals, spewing hostile slurs and condoning lawlessness, with nazi-like retaliation?

Damn right we need a revolution, but not against each other. We need to join together to hold that conspirator accountable.
