Sammiscribbles Weekend Writing Prompt 54 Fountain

Spewing the hate

Or flowing the love

Words can be both the above.

Describing a feeling

Expressed out loud

Should make them feel loved

And yourself proud.

Often a word opinion based

Has deep meaning we shouldn’t chase

Respect and compassion should be the case.

Make your fountain beautiful with love and grace.

As part of my application to WOW Airโ€™s contest, I had to make a 2 min max โ€œtravel guideโ€ talking about Montrรฉalโ€ฆย  Iโ€™ve NEVER edited videos before, and I would have gladly skipped this part of the application.

I hate filming myself too. I donโ€™t have any problem watching myself, but I just really wanted to leave it to your imagination to guess what I looked/sounded like.

But hey, a dream is a dream, and I promised to give it my best, so I did.

You have no clue how long this took me to makeโ€ฆ I canโ€™t believe I spent so much time, and came up with just this, but at least, Iย have a video, therefore, I can enter the contest! Yay me!

Someone asked (yeah, Iโ€™m talking about you,ย Suze) if there was a way to support my entry in the contestโ€ฆ Well you can alwaysโ€ฆ

Putting My Feet in the Dirt 12 and 13

She travelled the neighborhood every day, making sure to observe every nuance of the assembled homes. She took on this job of what she named “neighborhood watch”, but in reality, she was more like Keeper of the Realm.

Miss Flibbertigibbet was the all knowing nuisance in an otherwise friendly community. She climbed onto her ancient bicycle outfitted with a seemingly friendly basket of flowers by the handlebars. Unknown to anyone but her, the flowers hid a camera and pad and pencil. If Miss F spotted any sort of misdemeanor against the housing development agreement, she felt it her (however unwarranted) duty to report it.

Her special interest was the few glass houses. The inhabitants of such structures were careful to appear immaculate at all times. Heaven forbid a rainstorm occurred while they were away, because after such an event, Miss Flibbertigibbet was on the prowl. Glass house occupants were in fear of the spotted speck. This was a violation in only Miss F’s mind of course, but letters were written and read by the development’s association. The association was mostly a jury of “peers” but there were a few older members of Miss F’s ilk.

Reported, written and delivered for the day, Miss F returned to her home, oldest of the neighborhood, at the end of the street standing under the shadow of a power station. After eating a modest dinner of soup and dry bread, she retired to her bed, notebook in hand.

USA Mother’s Day 2018

An open heart

Spilling a tear

Remembering mothers passed

Grandmothers too.

A beautiful symbol

Made of metal for strength

Elaborately inscribed

With importances

Of a life

Always open with room to spare.

Today we enjoy

With, or remember

The ones who raised us

Loved and cared

And did their best.

Happy Mother’s Day!๐Ÿ’ž

Daily Prompt: Core

It’s not the apple

It’s not your abs

It’s not the magma

It’s not tenets of business

It’s not balled up rubber bands.

๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ’“

It is the heart

My core is the heart of my being, my existence

Outside happenings, events of importance

Can surround me with laughter or tears – my mind can ignore them

My heart cannot.

Time to Write – “Really, Really Hungry”

Since I’m going to be gone all day, I’m reposting this story.

โ€œWhatโ€™s that smell?โ€ A child of five years, asks the question when entering the living room full of adults. I love the honesty of children but sometimes their questions may cause an uncomfortable situation.

When my children were young and I was a busy mother, I prided myself on fixing good meals. My husband liked to bring home friends from work or out of town visitors to the office. I had cooked a southern favorite, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, apple pie and usual sides. Our visitor was a large man with an unusually big mouth. Our children were usually polite and we never worried about their behavior at dinner. As we all sat around the table, our childrenโ€™s eyes were fixated on the guest.

Apparently enjoying the provided fare, our guest smacked, gobbled, licked his large lips, snarfed, guzzled, and demolished as he cleaned his plate after several helpings. Iโ€ฆ
