MLMM Wordle #197

I was the amaryllis of the relationship with the man I describe below. I learned, laughed, admired and still deeply love this man. I knew he suffered from depression, not a bad day type of depression, but an all consuming blackness. His negative attitude was spurred on by the neurochemical sequences misfiring in his brain. There was no escape from the depression, or the dementia he now endures. Any sort of happiness or mellow joking I was accustomed to hearing, have all but disappeared. He is rapidly descending into his own world, afraid of new things, and of course, the beast called death.

Actual material items he used to enjoy such as his computer, electronic devices and such, seem a mystery. A once bright and curious mind, solving problems and creating new products is no longer his forte. An untoward life, boring, unrelenting and disappointing lies ahead of him.

We still have a relationship, but a much different, distant one. I miss him, for now I only have glimpses of what used to be.

SYW – May 21, 2018

This week is supposed to be warm with some rain, yea! Since I turned my thermostat off a few weeks ago, I dress like it’s still winter. Today I’m venturing out in the sun on the scooter, not very far, because it is so temperamental I have to make sure someone mobile is around in case it stops dead, which it likes to do. Don’t ask. Monday and time for cernphotography.com‘s Share Your World questions. A partial copy of her post below. Come join us!😺

<
1. Is this a trick question? I no longer enjoy household chores. I used to when I wasn’t confined to a wc, but it’s a pita now. I used to love organizing and seeing everything sparkle, now my attitude with it is “meh”. 😏

2. I think the radiologists like the color neon green as when they are trained, I’m sure they see a lot of it.🤢

3. My wheelchair, with which I have a love-hate relationship.🙄

My answers today sound a bit sorry for myself don’t they? Sorry, sorry about the sorry….this may not stop! Okay, sorry about the whole thing, just delete. I really don’t feel defeated or sad or anything of that nature. Hmmm.

I am looking forward to the new Mission Impossible movie later in the summer, and idk who said Tom Cruise should retire, but are you nuts? I want to see the new Deadpool 2,. I was laughing at some YouTube video interviews with Benedict Cumberbatch and looking ahead to doing the challenges here I try every week, including, thesecretkeeper.net, and MLMM Wordle. If you haven’t tried them, go for it!

My lovely grandson took me on a picnic to the Botanical Gardens and it’s late in starting, but there were crab apple trees blooming and lilac bushes, tulips, all smelling delightful. There were even some people fishing off the wooden bridge/fences. Sunny and no rain, gorgeous.

Dear Humanity,

I am but a tiny speck on this huge lovable ball called Earth. I encourage you to love this planet as much as I do, take good care of it, and other specks like me. We are in this together; what I do effects you and vice versa. That is why we need to work together to improve ourselves and our surroundings.

I am willing and look forward to hearing your suggestions as to how we can best benefit all. Thank you for reading. You can reach me at the address below.

Time to Write 5-18-18

“Think that’s enough?” As Joe put the fish in the basket, he was not enjoying the smell. The odor emanating from the red herring was about to make him vomit. Mike on the other hand, enjoyed catching the little critters and plopping them into his creel. They were almost done, Joe hoped, never being a fish aficionado. The two boys had read of this method of disguising their trail, and since they were regular purveyors of misdeeds, thought this might work on the Miss Jones’ caper.

Miss Jones was an irritating old woman, lived by herself on the edge of the sea. She didn’t want or need any visitors, especially on her property. She was famous for her specialty rose garden, but never allowed anyone to see the inside, because it was surrounded by tall arbors of ivy. Her only mission was to keep the few ancient varieties of roses still viable, propagating them as she did every season.

Once a year at the local Rose Festival, Miss Jones would provide and entertain with a sample of one of her coveted rose bushes. It was almost an automatic prize winner, but her secretive personality sometimes swayed new judges in the area. Finally the sons of one of her competitors, decided to take action.

Joe and Mike had listened to their mom complain every year that Miss Jones should be disqualified because she would refuse to offer proof of her submission in the contest. She lobbied for new rules requiring a sample accompanied by a photograph of the plant and allowance to the property by a certified member of the Rose Association. Joe and Mike’s mom was also an Association member and entered her hopeful prize rose.

The two boys devised a plan to sneak in, dig up and replant one of Miss Jones’ rose bushes in their mother’s garden, a “really neat Mother’s Day gift” they thought. On one of Miss Jones’ rare days off the property, the boys accomplished the task. The fish were used to lead to the sea, and cover the tracks leading to their own home, disguising their steps.

This might have been a happy ending, but as all stories of bad doings, Miss Jones returned home, checked her garden as was her routine, found the hole left by the boys, and died of a heart attack on the spot. The red herring succeeded in disguising their escape and their guilt in the matter was never discovered. As to their Mother’s Day gift, their mom was delighted, never realizing where it came from.

Putting My Feet in the Dirt 20

“Leathery lies”, she yelled with disgust. “You call these shoes? These are imitation plastic uppers with hard neosoles, absolutely not leather. My son paid a lot of money for these pieces of junk, and you dare to say they are real leather? You should be ashamed, I want my money back.”

Martha slammed down the sneakers on the shop counter. The shop had sold these shoes to her teenage son claiming they were the “latest” from a popular sport star.

The shop owner sheepishly slid the sneakers under the counter and gave Martha the $85+ her son spent. He had saved for weeks with his lawn mowing job and was duped by the shop’s shoddy products.

Martha made sure the surrounding customers heard her complaint and most left the shop immediately.

Martha left the shop and later at her PTO meeting, made sure to spread the word about the dishonest shop owner.

Sammiscribbles Weekend Writing Prompt and Daily Post: Narcissism

I believe these two go hand in hand

Being the blogger that I am

I usually post a bit of twaddle

Hoping it’s a humorous waddle

A smile or chuckle garnered

Is all I ever really wanted

Out of these scribblings that you see

Only a smittering of controversy

I like to play with words and spelling

Imagine you can tell the telling

Is offered as a bit of fun

As one might posting a pun

Rhyming though can be a chore

But that’s what I use Google for

Don’t think I’m narcissistic

But my blog doth existic.
