Three Line Tales 125 and Putting My Feet in the Dirt 21

It was a heartfelt affair for affairs of the heart. Heart shaped balloons carried up by the heat of heart shaped flames. Dazzling doohickeys with heart shaped bells were sold to children at the celebration.

Everyone there wore shirts or sweaters emblazoned with some type of heart. The most popular was of course, the heart on the sleeve.

The atmosphere was one of friendship, love and respect, the likes of which had not been seen since the flower children paraded the streets of San Francisco. This festival heartened the participants with hope for the future. Be still my beating heart.

Putting My Feet in the Dirt 20

I think they’re yummy

She replied with a mouthful

Chewy and juicy he said with a spoonful

There’s only one thing I despise

They look suspiciously like eyes!

She quickly overturned the fare

Knowing what ghastly goobers were there

Oh no my dear, they’re hard boiled eggs

Those things you see are just the dregs

Of herbs and spices I used to absorb

And cover the bland flavor of the orbs.

Uh huh, sure

MLMM Wordle #201

He fashioned her body as a counterweight. He had always admired her ginger hair, now much redder strewn with blood. He had enjoyed this one for the most part, although certainly not the finite red haired personality. He desperately tried to postpone the ritual but was receiving pressure from the thewles of sadists to get rid of her.

Martin qualified himself as a member of the group when he made his first kill, a lovely blonde woman he started corresponding with two years ago. His routine now perfected, he searched for lonely women still in their prime, whose lives revolved around Internet dating. There were many of them out there, seeking companionship, love, and some even liked a casual romp.

The casual romp type of woman was where he found the most ready-made victims. They usually had no family connections and were easily fooled by his charm. This night he was determined to rid himself of the irritating redhead during their nightly walk in the park.

There were fountains, wishing wells, and gardens in the park. No usual walkers were there after nine, and that’s when he did the deed. Hiding a blackjack in his belt, he waited till she was throwing a coin into the wishing well, and then landed a heavy blow to her head. She was dead in a matter of minutes. He drew the bucket up from the well water and replaced it with her body. Luckily the rope was wet and strong. It was a ghastly surprise awaiting the next thrower of coins who might decide to look down.

FOWC: Preposterous

Attending a conference about phosphorous

I said to a fellow acting really boisterous

“It definitely was a large rhinoceros”

He guffawed and replied “preposterous!”

γ€°

Taken aback, I turned almost dolorous

Then countered with, “I saw them myself

In the edge of the strait of Bosporus!”

Undaunted, he with an air of sonorous

“That ridiculous claim is simply outrageous!

γ€°

Rhinos are hardy but prefer the desert

No possible chance and I must assert

Your findings are simply unfounded

Rhinos prefer the dryness grounded”

γ€°

“They were living there for plants and fish

Absorbing phosphorous was the wish

Zoologists found it helped their bones

And strengthened the obvious “nose cones”

Daily Addictions Prompt: Gasp

I sneaked into the bedroom

Under the attic

You know of course

I’m a history addict

Combining that with my

Curiosity, is there any question why

I spied the trunk from previous visits

Couldn’t wait to see what was in it

Slowly lifted the ancient hasp

Looked inside to discover…..”gasp!”

Word of the Day: Anticipation

Image: Pinterest

As I searched for pictures of broken wire I came upon this image and the one below. Thinking of the hopefulness and anticipation of the children and parents seeking a better life, I picture this as a result of their disappointment.

Below, I think anticipation may be met with surprise before realizing it was just a governmental trap after all.

The Secret Keeper #146

They removed the fuse from the old metal box on the partial basement wall knowing the entire house would remain dark. Even the locked gate would be cut by their pocketed wire cutters. Their plan was to sneak in and retrieve the money box, presumed safe in its hiding place.

The role of these two ne’er-do-wells would soon be discovered, as they were unaware of Old Blue, the well trained attack dog. Old Blue heard them coming, had seen them rise out of the basement earlier in the day. He had been military trained and sensed the two were up to something.

His master’s nephews were always in trouble. Blue wondered why they were sneaking in at night and realizing his master was sleeping, decided to lay in wait under the darkened steps.

The boys who thought even Blue was too old to not be asleep for the night, slowly made their way up the steps. Just as they reached the door, Old Blue came leaping out, his loud basset hound rumbling bay scaring the boys in the dark. As the boys ran in fright, they ran past the now jagged wire lock on the gate, and received a nasty wound along with torn jeans. This evidence was questioned by their parents revealing their plan and guilt. What they thought of as a prank on their uncle, had turned into a trap.
