MLMM Bonus Wordle- C

Joe tried to hide his satisfaction, when considering the freedom he had now achieved. The fate of his captor was closure he needed. It had been too long for him and his fellow prisoners under the contemptuous rule of this chief of police. He had control of the city and caused chronic fear in the area under his rule.

The cause of the chief’s demise was his own greed, growing callous with his efforts to steal from whom he considered miscreants. Possibly he failed to realize until the noose slipped around his neck, that he was the largest thief of all, thwarting any efforts of true compliance to established rules to help the needy. He grifted that currency and caused mayhem in the poorer districts.

As Joe heard the thud of the counterweight and crush of the cervical spine of the chief, he was satisfied. The tyrant would rule no more.

Putting My Feet in the Dirt – October 1

“Ahhh, I see you brought dessert! How perfectly charming of you,”

“I know how much you love dessert and since it is the first day of October, thought this bit might be appealing to you.”

“You know me too well, Morticia. And who was this delightful piece of deliciousness?”

“A decidedly desperate darling from the drinking establishment in the bayou. You know the area where I like to find a good victim, uh I mean meal. There are so many wanting assistance.”

“Certainly you are not taking advantage of these poor people. Of course that is our undeniable history. I prefer the taste of the more elite crowd. They often indulge in the finer cuisine of which the aftertaste is superb!”

Boris walks by the coffin candy and licks his lips with anticipation. “She is dressed rather nicely for a young waif. Of course you are familiar with my favorite color, blood red. How appropriate.”

“I knew you’d be pleased. Now if I might ask, will you be offering such candy on All Hallows’ Eve? Your followers have always looked forward to your home for trick or treating.”

Movie Monday

Looking up one of my favorite artists for a different post, Diego Rivera, I thought once again of this movie I’ve watched a few times so far. Exceptional actors Salma Hayek and Alfred Molina play Frida and Diego.

“Frida Kahlo de Rivera was a Mexican artist who painted many portraits, self-portraits, and works inspired by the nature and artifacts of Mexico. Inspired by the country’s popular culture, she employed a naïve folk art style …

Sunday Photo Fiction – Fairyland

The background simple, even the blue sky looked great. She stepped back and admired her work. Being the state’s best chocolatier had its advantages. Marie had many artistic friends that wanted to share in her fame. All it took was a simple phone call and they arrived full of ideas and plans to surround her creation for the confectioners’ contest: Fairyland.

Marie had the idea for the crooked cabin from the start and having her friends finish her display with faux grass, trees, and a blue sky canopy completed the look. The combined efforts were awarded the grand prize.

Sammiscribbles Weekend Writing Prompt #74

When you brandish that smile, see me, I live for the look in your faithful eyes. I take pleasure in your warmth. You feed me, and take care of my needs. You keep me warm at night and make a path through the snow in the day. You protect me in the forest, defeat my enemies, keep our family safe.
Our world, especially my world, revolves and depends on you and when you look at me, my heart melts with love. I watch you with our children, and feel rewarded and complete in the knowledge they are taught well, and I realize you are my beloved, and we are yours.

3TC – Sports

A sports uniform holds many things

Including many familiar sweat rings

The ones you see in various shades

Depending on which game they were made

And then there’s the odors of the locker

When opened, could knock you off your rocker

I’ll just add those items that have cleats

The ones used by athletes on their feet

There’s no comparison that can meet

The odor likened to Limburger cheese.

MLMM First Line Friday 9-28-18

Amber light streamed down from the arched windows, splattering the altar and their upturned faces. Was it a sign she wondered? Was it the gods letting me know they were pleased by this sacrifice?

It was definitely a sacrifice, offering up their hard won harvest yield to unknown sources. Reaping most of their crops to put them here on the altar when they only kept meager supplies to last for their families till another season.

The light was taken by all as a sign the gods were pleased once again and the strength of their faith once again renewed. As the peasants left the hallowed earth area, the light dimmed, then it was gone.

She glanced back for only a second to see the offerings had disappeared.
