MLMM Tale Weaver #211 – Egrlactical

“Well I just don’t believe it, don’t believe it at all. You can’t just say “egrlactical” and expect all of us to sit here and say, oh, yes, you’ve found the solution? Ridiculous!”

Professor Plumme was voicing his opinion of the new “save the world” theory which student Peter Peabody and his team had voiced in the Innovations for World Peace class. Every young student had their personal solution, of course; none new from the annals of history, but valiant efforts, nonetheless. Achieving an A in Professor Plumme’s class was rare, but it never deterred the eager students.

Peter’s theory, entitled “Egrlactical”, came about from long coffee and marijuana filled nights of studious efforts. After smoking for a few hours, his mind relaxed enough to open up to previously unimagined possibilities for a new improved world order. It was then decided to stream caffeine at an alarming rate to put these ideas on paper.

However, as the young men described their new theory on how to improve their world, an unfortunate accident occurred. A blinding light, an explosion, and in the ashes, only one item remained undamaged–a sheaf of papers named: The Egrlactical Theorem.

Nursery Rhyme Rant

Butcher, baker, candlestick maker

Rich man, poor man, beggar man, thief

Rub a dub dub or out on the street

Skinhead, pothead, or KKK

What’s on the menu today?

Socialism, religion, taxes and more

Protesting every thing galore

A right to say it, freedom rings

Is all that matters? Or other things

Like poverty, homelessness, and starvation

Plaguing every earthly nation

Health concerns in all locations

Wealth will not redeem salvation

The earth is squeezed in every corner

Come out, little Jack Horner

Blow your horn ever louder

Wake us up! Life’s getting shortened

We need to know what’s important!

100 Word Wednesday #109

Why did you want to come back here?

This is where I first professed my love for you.

You mean this scratching on the tree?

Why yes, my dear, remember?

I remember you trying to kiss me, right here by this tree!

Of course I did, I was. . .am still, in love.

I was eleven!

I was thirteen, but I knew you were the one.

You mean your hormones knew.

I guess. I think all of me knew I would love you forever, and now, fifty years later, we’re still together!

You could have at least spelled my name right.

Haunted Wordsmith – Page 52, Line 3

A very serious book, “Combat Medic” by S.M. Boney, but I apologize, as I’m going to go ridiculous with the following:

“He jumped!” Private Bauer yelled out the window, as the rest of us stood there open mouthed. There was no coming back from this desperate attempt. As we gathered around the body of the deceased, we knew the old adage was untrue. Cats do not have nine lives.

Word of the Day: Desire

I have been rewatching a series on Netflix named “Lucifer”. It has everything: humor, action, music, fantasy.

Lucifer, being the devil, of course, was tired of his job as punisher in hell, so cut off his wings and came up to join us here on earth. He fell for a police detective and used his wiles to solve crimes. His greatest talent was confronting a suspect and asking them to reveal their deepest desires.

He is a great piano player, not too bad a singer and his “cover” is being a nightclub owner. It’s a bit intriguing and if you are suffering as I am, from the closed in cold weather, you might give it a look.
