Daily Prompt: Doubt

img_4138

First it was awkward and brief
But talking again was a relief
We meant no harm
Again fell for your charm
No doubt I felt like a thief.

Stealing these moments of pleasure
I admit it feels like a treasure
Your voice, your kiss, your touch
I’ve missed it all so much.

Why must it always be this
A stolen moment of bliss
Causing regret and fear
But I still want, need your kiss.

How much should we risk
It always seems too brisk
So then, is it time again
To offer this?

A farewell to love, once more
Is it torture or heaven adored
I ask, I even beg
An answer to this, I implore

Shall this be the ending
Leave our hearts untended
Or start again, begin anew
You with me and me with you.

Clowns *Adults Only*

Does anyone else hate clowns?   I have never liked them.  Not clowns in the circus, dolls of clowns, and certainly not the creepy looking ones in Cirque du Soleil. I’m not talking about the tasseled-hat men in the hometown parade with their little tiny cars.  I’m talking about the really creepy ones like the one in Stephen King’s “It”.  That was the scariest book I ever read.  My husband and I were reading it together at night, and we both lost sleep over it.  Then the movie came out.  Of course we had to see it.  I get chills now, years later, just thinking of it.  That face, that voice, still gives me the creeps.

I don’t like drains of any kind, not in the tub, pools, roads, or sidewalks.  Some horrible thing must have happened in my childhood to cause this fear, but I’m glad I don’t remember it.  After reading the book, watching the movie, I cannot pass by a drain without thinking there is probably something evil down there.

100 Word Weekly Writing Challenge —Week 8

Those were the good old days. Taking your film in to a new sensation, “one hour photo developing”! Instead of filling out information on an envelope you hoped wouldn’t get lost in a huge, trash-like bin in the grocery store, you could hand over the film itself to an actual person. Most of the time you could just give your camera to the person, and they would safely take it out, not risking exposure to light and ruining the contents.
Now cameras take multiple photos in a matter of seconds, even send them on to somewhere else. Digital rocks!

Daily Prompt:  Hesitate

Sometimes things just irritate

Try their best to complicate

Life as we know it.

I have a few of these

Like constant WIND, not breeze.

Unless you try to extricate

Yourself from things you contemplate

Overthinking doesn’t help.

Candles lit to meditate

Might even complicate

That’s why you need to hesitate

Relax and accept your fate

No need to get irate

Worry or take the bait,

Or get yourself in a state

Things will change if you just wait.

Picture Prompt-79

“It’s a beautiful day, Harry.  Just look at that sunrise!  Mother Nature gave us a good one today, right Harry?  Can you believe we’re out here in this gorgeous wilderness? The lake so quiet and still. Hear those geese honking?  Boy, Harry, we are truly lucky guys.”

Harry pulls the ammunition out of his hunter’s vest and loads his shotgun, aims, and shoots, dropping a bird in the water. “Sure is, Joe, sure is.”

Flash Fiction – Week 10

He’s touching me!

I am not, it’s Harry, he touches everybody.

You’re pushing me, I’m going to fall off!

Well if you fall off, just join those wimpy guys inside.

Hey, we’re not wimps, it’s warm in here.

Charlie, keep your paws to yourself!

Uh, sorry, Kate, it’s just so crowded up here.

Joe, sweetie, your whiskers are tickling my nose, you’re so cute!

Shelly,  I just love your little beady eyes, dear.

Crowding to the right from Whitey and his brother Biggie.

Okay everybody off to the left.  Whitey’s crowding as usual.

Tiny pops up, big ears showing.

Hey, look out there!  Is it cheese?  I think it’s cheese!  Come on guys, let’s check it out!

So goes a day in the life of mice.
