Tell Me Something Good #53ย

๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽˆ๐ŸŽŠ๐ŸŽ‰Congratulations Momma!  Thank you for starting the blog and this section of encouragement on Mondays! The pizza gif was hilarious!  Fingers crossed today for my ten year old granddaughter who is getting a second set of X-rays on her hand.  Good wishes to all, near and far for a great week full of pleasant surprises.  And Spring!  I think we may get a peek at it!

Picture Prompt – 113

Beauty in nature takes many forms

A delicate butterfly, constantly moving from stem to stem

Grasses constantly dancing in the breeze

Tiny visions of birds returning home

A lingering sunset always changing colors

How privileged we are to notice

Natural surrounding beauty.

Mindlovemiserysmenagerie – Prompt – Lists

Speaking for myself alone

A short list to atone

For every group or persone

That I refuse to condone.

Funny thing about my list

It’s not hard to get the gist

Of meaning when I write

I’m not often so contrite

Take this as a blanket sorry

For digs at the political quarry

I respect the office, not the man

Certainly not his game plan

If and when you feel the need

To write a comment when you read

I’m grateful for the time you take

A better poster it will make.

Three Line Tales – 62

“Yup, it’s a problem all right.” Joe smoothed his thinning hair back and put his hands on his hips. “This ain’t gonna be easy. I don’t think we have a strong enough crane to lift this sucker upright.” He turned to his assistant Mike. “Any ideas?”

Mike surveyed the situation carefully.  Being the town’s head engineer in this department, his answer should be a knowledgeable one. “According to my rough calculations, we need two elephants, their handlers, strong, heavy rope, a couple of I beams, and about forty car jacks. That should do it.”

“Can always count on you, Mike.”

Three Line Tales, Week 62

Daily Prompt: ย Tenacious

Time for humor

It’s about tenacious

Being a woman

Hardly bodacious

But even if I was

So curvaceous

Age has a way

Makes you less gracious

Not just in your face

Parts seem to race

For gravity’s capacious

Beauty’s chartaceous

No longer flirtatious

Definitely be sagacious

Never minacious

Just tenacious!

A to Z Challenge ย  H is for Hat

You know those foil hats from the fifties? Wear one and you will be protected from aliens, electromagnetic signals, government spying? I think it’s time to invest in these. Sure some say it’s paranoia causing the need for these hats, but have you read the news lately? I think it’s time that paranoia is becoming daily truth.

Sending in “readiness” ships to prevent becoming unaware of impending attack, should cause us to be a bit paranoid, don’t you think? This trigger happy, nonchalant leader of ours is a threat to our country with his attitude. I’m not saying we should back down, but you don’t walk up to a dog and take his bone, especially a dog that is waiting for you, maybe even wanting you to try. Not unless you want a fight where you’ll probably lose your hand in the process, and ultimately lose anyway. Starting a missile firing contest between any set of countries is just stupid! We will all pay for this leader’s in-discretionary tactics.

Sunday Photo Fiction – April 9, 2017

“Loki, look at that, my wildest dreams wouldn’t make up a ship like that! And I guess children are going to ride in this? My own children will be very amused to see this, in Valhalla!”

The ghost of the Viking Ragnar just shook his head. How could they make such a mockery of the beautifully crafted ships we made? He was very disappointed to think children wouldn’t know the truth from objects like this. All they see are cartoon images wearing big horned furry hats brandishing swords. Ragnar was saddened by this apparent fact and all he could do was observe.

“Don’t worry so much about it. Their televisions and computers have series on Vikings and show real ships and how they were made. They even recovered a full ship in good condition! If they want knowledge about the history, they need to read about it.”

“It’s just such a shame. How can I be happy in Valhalla when these children will not know the real history of their ancestors?”

The two apparitions floated over the bow to take a closer look. “Oh, Loki, this is sad!” Ragnar pointed to a popcorn machine and soda stand in the hull.

Stream of Consciousness Saturday – 4-8-17 ย  and ย  ย A-Z Challenge – Letter G

๐Ÿฃ๐Ÿฅ     Hey all!  I’m living happy today…WIFI, wheelchair both working well. Doctor appointments over, and Easter bunny is hoppin’ down the bunny trail.  I may see “Logan” this weekend, so all’s right with the world!  Have a great weekend!๐Ÿ๐Ÿฐ

G  is for giving, for both of these posts in one.  The word give or giving is huge for me.  I have the best family in the world and they all have grown up giving and taught their children by example.  They all volunteer in different ways, donating their time to others.  Caring for me whenever I need it is another form.  The most important of all is giving love to each other.  It’s very rewarding as a parent to see your children grown up and living a life of love and companionship, and then continuing on with their own children.

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Apr. 8/17

Joe Went Camping

“It sure is a long way out there! How many miles do you think it is to that island?”

“Who cares? We need to get out of here before anyone sees us!”

“It sure is a long way out there. . .” Bob put his hand up to his brow, looking out on the water. “It sure . . .”

“You said that already. Now get in the car!”

Jack hurried down to get Bob and pull him into the car. Ever since they dumped Joe’s body, Bob acted strangely. “Hurry up, Bob, there you go, into the car.” As he shoved his accomplice into the seat, he also attached his seatbelt. He didn’t want him falling out. Just in case, he might put the child lock on. All this over a stupid poker game. Who knew Joe carried a gun to the games, and why? He stepped on the gas and sped out of the sand. Broad daylight and we’re out here trying to sink a body! Of course I never liked Joe anyway, he was a mean sort.

“Remember that time Joe brought his wife in the bar sporting that shiner? And that wasn’t the first time! Everyone knew then what kind of man he was.” Jack kept talking, keeping one eye on the road and one on Bob.

Bob sat by his friend in the car. I’ve got my seatbelt on, we’re driving home. That’s good. I wonder what happened to Joe. I think he came to the beach with us, I think. Did we go swimming? Funny I can’t remember something like that.

“Jack, did we go swimming?” Jack was beside himself. Not only had Bob saved him from getting shot, but he killed Joe. Now he’s in La La land. It wasn’t his fault, they struggled and Joe ended up dead. The problem was that the guys thought his wife would be blamed, so they stuffed the body in the trunk. It was lucky the trunk had camping supplies. Joe went camping, sleeping bag, tent, ropes and all, right in the water.
