Come Closer. . .

I see you staring, wondering what’s inside. Admire burnished beauty? I’m used to it, no worries. What’s with the locks? Well I am ancient after all, different locks have been removed or added over the years. Feeling woozy? That’s perfectly normal. Come close, look inside.

Rory’s Daily Four

***

I feel passion for almost everything. The top of the list would be just life, living after cancer makes you appreciate the day to day stuff. Articulate, eh? Family, love, nature all important.

Apparently not.

I am as happy as I can be. If I had a close friend I met five years ago near me, I would be happier, but we’re about 8 hours away from each other and don’t drive.

I do experience stress but not usually for myself. Usually for a family member if they are stressed for whatever reason. I try not to read about Trump too much because he causes me the most stress.

Personal crap

I try not to let the everyday crap drive me nuts😄.  I was picked up yesterday to shop for produce at the King Soopers store.  We had one a half mile away in Lakewood, CO and I miss going there.

I purchased a small container of mustard potato salad from the deli, and sheepherder’s bread which is only available there, an old favorite. And plums, cabbage, baking potatoes, sweet and white, raspberries, blueberries, plums, sweet onion, celery and a nice fresh salmon steak.
I had to use one of those motorized carts.  Ugh!  I know you hate them, resent those of us who block the aisle, run you down, overturn displays and generally ruin your shopping trip, but sometimes we have no choice. This cart kept jerking and stopping dead.  Embarrassing and one of those crap type things I mentioned earlier. My own scooter has to be partially disassembled to fit in cars, but is so much nicer to use.

The grocery clerk told me I wasn’t sitting right on the cart and that’s why it kept jerking and stopping. That’s after I was stuck in line at the checkout — to the consternation of the people behind me🤬🙄. I guess it didn’t occur to her I can’t feel my butt and that’s why sitting “correctly” never occurred to me. She said I have to have my butt way back in the seat, which being a person with short legs is not easy. Who knew?

All in all a nice day and a larder full of delicious produce. We had a laugh or three about the cart. I think some people do not realize they are a necessity at times and just because you look perfectly healthy when not in your wheelchair, you may not be able to walk. I hate those carts as much as you do, believe me. They are slow, not easy to navigate and most people grab their kids in fright when they see you coming! Nah, just kidding, although it has been done.😎Maybe it’s me and not the conveyance!🙄😂

Movie Monday

Here we are again and I have a movie for you that I watched this weekend: “Can You Ever Forgive Me?” I had not heard of Lee Israel. It is based on her true story and very interesting. Starring the underrated (in my opinion) Melissa McCarthy, also Richard Grant, as the main fascinating flawed characters. Remember to watch the credits!

The Monday Peeve

A new Prompt by Paula:

Okay, it is Monday but being retired, it’s just like any other day in the week to me. I do sympathize with the rest of you, though, but I’ve been there. The best thing about working for me was interaction with people and having to be very organized. Loved it!

If I have a peeve today, it is WordPress. This app on my phone refuses to recognize me even after entering the same name and password multiple times. So if you get a blue head with no name as a like or comment, it’s probably me. I am no tech head and rely on my grandchildren if I need help.🙄🤓🤪

Kira’s Sunday Scribbles 9-15-19

Each day after her initial appointment, Julie looked at herself in the mirror completely nude, trying to move this way and that, turning to the side, looking over her shoulder, but she still couldn’t find them. Julie was looking for those fat cells the plastic surgeon was telling her she needed to have removed. Yes, he was gorgeous, young and new to the medical staff, but he had no clients.

Julie was hardly delighted when after a consultation, Dr. Gorgeous showed her a closeup photo of the fat cells he saw under a microscope. Julie was devastated, but when she went home, she was hard put to see where those extra fat cells were. The doctor did one legitimate operation as an intern, collected the fat cells, photocopied and used them indiscriminately on unsuspecting clients.

Luckily Julie decided she would wait on having the improvements Dr. G recommended.
