Sunday Photo Fiction 9-15-19

The two men packed quickly, their flight was leaving in an hour. Joe mentioned this was a whole new air flight. Minimum seating with minimum cost. Mike was so excited. It had been a while since he’d flown. It was just too expensive and annoying on a crowded plane.

They arrived at the station and only saw chairs lined up, but were ushered into them. As they tried to imagine what type of flight this actually was, a steward came by to collect their boarding passes.

“Now, all passengers must be buckled in and remember, do not look down!” The two men exchanged nervous glances as the invisible jet took off. All went well until the landing. The pilot did not think of the new plane’s vulnerable structure as he botched the landing, hitting the tarmac too hard.

Reena’s Exploration Challenge #104

Three words chosen by eyes shut and pointing: in, depths, during

What a morning Linda thought as she made the bed. She softly, lovingly smoothed the blankets over the top. In her mind, he was still there, even though he had been gone for over ten years.

I remember many good times on this bed she thought, and horrible ones. I was sitting on the edge of this bed during the 9/11 attacks, waiting for my husband to finish getting ready for work.

The depths of Linda’s mind remember the good, the happiness and the sorrow while resting on this bed, waiting for sleep to come.

Sammiscribbles Weekend Writing Prompt 9-14-19

$795.00🤯

Just take them off! You’re not sugar or salt so you’re not going to melt away in the waves here.

But these shoes are expensive! Jimmy Choo doesn’t design junk, and I can’t afford to replace them!

Well if they’re so delicate, why wear them on a picnic?

I didn’t know it was a picnic. I thought you had a romantic dinner in mind. I was hoping to impress you.

It is romantic, picnic on the beach, fire, basket of wine, cheese, bread. I guess it’s just my idea of romance. I have your favorite dessert too, strawberries and whipped cream.

Ooooooh, the shoes are off!

Sunday Whirl – Wordle #421

“Pluck that electric guitar, give us that smokin’ jive you do so well.” Gerry was always trying to empower his friend Joe, trying to sway him into recording his music. Joe was reluctant, thinking his efforts only mirrored other artists, but Gerry thought Joe had discovered a new beat.

Gerry admired Joe’s talent, knew it was remarkable and unique, not a clash with other players. Joe just shrugged his shoulders, not ready to go public.

Another Scam🤨😖

Yesterday I received an email from my daughter in law, at least I thought it was, at first, as it was just a hello. First clue was it was from her maiden name. I’m sure it originated from her old Facebook site. I deleted my own FB site a while ago.

I thought it was strange but replied that sure I would do her a favor. I thought it might be a secret gift for my son, etc.

Then came the request, buy a gift card from iTunes, which apparently she could not do because she was travelling. Again, stupid me thought, weird, you can purchase anything from anywhere these days but I wrote back – okay. The first mail was (M) saying hello, the second asking for a favor, which showed it wasn’t her.

The most obvious fact in the second mail was M has no niece and the wording, mispelling…a copy below:

My Melissa is intelligent and articulate, would never write anything like that. So I spammed it and sent a note to my son asking him about it. Of course it’s a scam but now I keep getting mail from the same person. How do I report him? It needs to be reported to someone in authority.

Her maiden name is not common, so where did he make the connection other than FB?

If you know where I should report this. Please let me know.

MLMM Saturday Mix 9-14-19

Everyone knew Jordy, always ready for a fight, enjoyed teasing the girls mercilessly and an all around cad. Julie was one of his targets on Saturday, June 10, 1973. Some school friends, mostly girls, decided to meet at the arcade for some pinball excitement. As the girls were deep into watching Julie attempt to reach a higher score, they didn’t notice Jordy coming up behind her. The rest is history.

Jordy was a little too handy with Julie’s buxom beauty and Julie, turned quickly and grabbed Jordy’s pinballs. The rest of the girls laughed as Jordy slinked into the nearest booth and I think I remember him crying. Who knew Julie was a loose canon?

Fun Challenge #2

Just for fun, no pressure😄 Provide a pic of your refrigerator front. As you can see, I’m no photographer, this is just a “get to know you better”.

Here’s mine, comprised of kids’ contributions over the years and photos of my oldest who lives far away. One of my favorites is the valentine flower pot inscribed “Be myne”💓

SoCS 9-14-19

The first blue thing I saw when I woke up was a set of headphones I used last night when I couldn’t get to sleep. I was watching “Warehouse 13” on the iPad. Of course disappointed it now has 30-75 second commercials because even though it’s on Prime, apparently it has been sold to IMBd. I thought my library in Prime was mine to watch again anytime. C’est la vie.

This song has been going through my head lately, so I’m sharing it here, “Away Beyond the Blue” by Emmy Lou Harris:
