Fiercely fumbling
Feeling frustration
Forgetful findings
Faultful fruit
Frail finish
Feedback figures
Follows
Flawed finality

Closed she said, well not with words
It was more that look, stream of silence
Eyes turning darker
Smile disappearing
Arms folded
Stance determined
I thought it would come to this
After the last night we had
Unintentional, it seemed
Deep down we knew.

Quadrille #101: What’s Neither Closed Nor Cancelled? Poetry.
I was going to write something serious, as in we will survive and bounce back, etc, but no. Enough. It’s time for a smile and music and of course, dancing! Get your sixties on…

The robin’s egg blue still stands out from the dusty nest. The broken shells remain an odd personalia of the day, along with a few dried leaves that surround it. Most of the memory is overshadowed by the sudden flash of Joe’s switchblade as he pressured it against the gaunt jugular vein of the adult bird. I tried to throw my phone at Joe to distract him from killing the bird, but he was determined and made the swift cut of murder. Even as I hold the nest, remembering, I never realized the low act of a future serial killer.

“My car just broke down, the engine is dead, now what can we do?”
“We can call Joe’s Delivery. They deliver all over town and I’ve heard great reviews on Instagram!”
“Cool, you call and I’ll take the dog for a walk.”
After fifteen minutes and an extraordinarily high MasterCard payment the delivery came. Martha opened the door to see a handsome young man dressed in a tux.
“Hello? May I help you?”
“Hi, I’m Joe, and I’m here to deliver. Any special requests?”

Clams, seafood with grit
Delicious fare I can’t quit
Oh, salacious sands

Gold and black stripes
Darting in and out
Wings beating immeasurably
Here, there, amassing pollen
Humming while you work
Your diligence is captivating.

A book and movie, both the 1981 and 2002 versions, my family has always enjoyed is “Tuck Everlasting”. A heart warming story for everyone, by Natalie Babbitt.

I rarely look at the calendar itself, just the date. I was surprised today to see it is Palm Sunday here. It reminded me of great church services in Montrose, Colorado with a certain minister. He was very supportive of our family when the grandkids were young and had medical issues. I think there are a few really sincere pastors and he certainly is one.

An orange hue shines over the battle. The lives that should be home in free states suffer the lies of their leaders. Instead the curve of a sad harvest moon observes the spread of destruction carved in this field.
