Okay, now I’ve seen it all

I couldn’t sleep tonight and the song ” People are Strange” by The Doors kept going through my mind. I finally gave up and grabbed my phone to play solitaire. I saw this from NBC news. I know it’s not funny, it’s surreal! There are no words—

Uh huh, the last line. 🤯🙄😳🤪🙈

I should rehearse the speech

Written here in words

A practice to reach

A thought using nouns and verbs

Hoping this novice doesn’t disturb

And with importance it doesn’t perturb

But using that advice this thingamajig

Called blogging is such a hit and miss

A real contraption, doohickey and puzzle

Some of my posts should have been muzzled

But take heart I say to myself

Take all those words sitting there on the shelf

Find them, turn them, don’t be shy

Leave the readers wondering, “why?”

Be brave people, don’t be a stick in the mud

It’s time to dig deep, throw out things with a thud

Because you will feel better when you write it all out

Instead of sitting alone with a worrisome pout.

Monday Movie

One of my favorite scenes in this movie is the car rental scene, but for today, a milder one. There is no short clip of a scene that makes me laugh most–in which they are sitting on a trunk in the middle of the road and hear a noise.

Airplane scenes are typical, as anyone who has flown on a plane will recognize.

I miss seeing John Candy in films. “Planes, Trains and Automobiles”:

MLMM Wordle – County Fair

“Good afternoon Calavaras County Fair visitors! It’s going to be a blustery day for those of you in the pie throwing competition. Long tentacles of dangerous withershins will make those feathery meringue confections fly right up to that blue sky ceiling! Good grief, I can imagine how the contestants will scurry around trying to carefully aim their delicious delights toward the targets!

And for those of you wondering about the homemade herbal tea competition yesterday, there was a slight brouhaha involved when it was discovered that dried shoes on a hot car engine was the secret ingredient to Miss Jones’ winning recipe.

Now let’s all settle in for the culinary contest of the day.”

Thank you, Sadje!🌸

Sadje over at https://lifeafter50forwomen.com/2020/05/10/vincent-ehindero-blogger-award/ nominated me for this award, but my blog is award free. I have received awards and am grateful for them since it is an encouragement to keep writing. Here are the questions posed for the award. Please feel free to answer these yourselves and know I appreciate my followers and readers. Thank you!

  1. The last movie I watched was “McFarland”, again. True inspirational story.
  2. On rainy days I have the urge to bake or cook but no fudge making, it doesn’t set up in humidity.
  3. Nothing unusual or new since the lockdown for me since I live by myself.
  4. I have my phone by my side constantly. I only turn it off at night when sleeping.
  5. I think the most valued thing in a friend is honesty and trust. Everything else just comes naturally.
  6. I have too many favorite characters to name. I like the antihero types best.
  7. Autumn is my favorite.
  8. Funny this one because it reminds me of a quote from “Elmer Gantry” my husband said, “love is the morning and the evening star” which always infuriated me.
  9. I have too many favorites to name. Different decades spell them out such as “The Dick Van Dyke Show”. I think I know that series by heart. “Golden Girls”, “Mash” all loved.
  10. Time travel? Maybe to when my mom was a young woman to get to know her better.

I’m nominating anyone who takes the time and effort to draw, paint, write stories and poems and share photographs here on WP. You all deserve it!👍🏻👏🏻

New Home

Lace curtains in our downtown home’s salon brings an old charm from the past near to us in special ways. Moving into a new home steels me from the initial bankrupt feeling, having to abandon our country estate. With a sigh of resolve, we will close the last file on those memories tomorrow. Our first home will be sold to a young couple, but we’ll strive to make this modern residence our new center, filled with as much love as our initial one.
