Beautiful Dreamer

***

I sat on the edge a while

Just imagining

How it would be to be a fish

Disappointed in the world I live in

Tired from the dreams

Decided to see for myself

No longer a dream for me

Now I am swimming free.

Greed

There is a distinction between avarice, self importance, grandstanding and obtaining a meal for your family in the wild. This man has no honor and is making all US citizens pay for his and his family’s outrageous vacations and splurges.

This should make you think how you will vote while you are sitting at home, out of work, trying to feed your family and pay your rent.

What day is it anyway?

Say what you will about climate change but when it’s June and temperatures are freezing at night and colder than a cob at noon, there is a problem. And of course there is the ever present cheery news where the new case numbers are up because of reopening, protests, and plain old stupidity. Is it Monday? Because this sounds like a peeve to me.🥴

I can’t leave you in despair, so here is my favorite photo from Saturday’s wedding–guaranteed to make my day and you smile!

Hideaway

A hideaway where we can grieve

The underdogs forced down on knees

This respite from the outer siege

Landmarks of sorrow in violent streets

While leaders incite with their tweets

This is our respite from the storms

Hateful visions are now the norm

Staying here until the world reforms

Try to envision how new law could form

Be Careful What You Wish For

Thanks for nothing Frank. Now look at me. It’s so heavy I can’t even move it out of the way to eat!

Personally, I’d call it a victory. You wanted to stand out in a crowd, now you will!

Stand? Stand? I can barely hold this up longer than a minute, and can’t walk for five! How exactly is that a victory? All I wanted was to impress Morlena. Now she can’t even look at me.

Look, Joe, you asked for a potion to appease her love of a larger nose, and that’s what I gave you. Just don’t get a cold or allergies; a sneeze would blow us into the next continent.

The Sunday Whirl 6-7-20

She usually decided to pass on wild evening dress designs, and not pander to her stylists’s creativity, but the squiggly line of stripes down the center would certainly fill a gap in her conservative wardrobe.

Never taking a chance to shock the press with her activities, she would drill her husband and children on how to covet their lives in public. “My acting life is theirs, my personal life is mine.”

As for her husband?😉

50 Word Thursday

A typical Sunday afternoon for most, but Gerald had other ideas. Being the oldest brother of his family, the inheritance should have gone to him, but at the reading of the will found he was second in line.

“It’s okay, Martha, that’s just the shadow of the tree! Keep walking!”
