What, who, where, when and how? All questions debated as I research it on the Internet. Differing opinions and references made to the Unite the Right protest in Charlottesville, North Carolina in 2017. Every site has a different take: Wikipedia, Dictionary.com, the Cambridge English Dictionary, Lexico, USA Today, the New York Times, etc. I encourage you to read these different accounts. Here’s one:

Old Mrs. Smith decided it was time to get off her rocker–pun intended, and protest the local grocery store. It all began when she was close to running out of her favorite Spam. Mrs. Smith was a thrifty lady and always shopped wisely to retrieve the best deals. When she saw the sale basket of Spam near the meat counter, she hurriedly loaded ten cans into her basket.
As she was shelving the items at home, she looked more closely to the cans of Spam. Apparently most of them expired a year ago. She vowed to talk to the store manager and ask why the Spam she bought the day before had overdue expiry dates. The grocery was hoping to recoup their losses, that the sale price would cover the cost even though it was their mistake handling the product. The store manager placed the cans in a basket for sale and risked thinking most elderly people were unaware or unable to read the label printing.
Mrs. Smith was no wall flower. She had protested civil rights and marched along in the sixties. She contacted her friends and found some of them had also been duped by the sale. The next day people with scooters, walkers and canes, bicycles, and golf carts gathered at the grocer’s parking lot, blocking all other shoppers.

The lock’s heart shape is deceiving
Once you have entered it will be leaving
Seduction, promises made to entice
You never were one to heed advice
Warnings by your family and friends
Even the ominous door’s intends
You ignored all, turned the key
Now you’ve succumbed, how hard you’ll fall.

“Running water where the dark blind met the window sill wasn’t the only indication something untoward happened”, was the opening statement by the defense. “The rain water came in from a series of bullet holes.” The snappy dressed lawyer addressed the jury in the tall slim blonde’s behalf. Her husband was mysteriously shot to death while a robbery was in progress.
“My client is obviously innocent, and this was clearly a robbery” sighting the missing items of value. The defendant’s demeanor was hardly innocent and the older women in the jury tended to glower at her with piercing eyes. Whenever the defense attorney returned to his seat, the defendant would sigh and cling to his arm, giving it an easy squeeze.
The trial ended up with the young woman found guilty after a hidden video showed her forcing the old man onto his knees with a gun.

A puzzle for you
You must guess who can it be
Who tripped, never fell
Graceful first, then failed at all
Sad, as we joined in the fall.
