Alphabet Soup Challenge – V – Value

Almost finished with cathylynnbrooks.com Alphabet Soup Challenge.  Check it out.  It’s a way to blog everyday for people who don’t have as big a mouth or as much time as I do.  It encourages you to write every day with a random letter of the alphabet.

I chose value for the letter v.  The thing I value most is love, all types of love.  Who or what do you love most?  Your partner, children, family? I value life next.  Yes, it is second, because without love, what would life be?  Is there a song title there somewhere?  Hopefully not.  Life is very important to me.  I’ve had a couple of close calls and I must say, I am a stronger, more appreciative person because of them.  So today, please take a moment and think about what you value most in life.  And please comment with your thoughts.  I love comments!  Be honest though, I can take it!πŸ€“

What these steps have endured, what they have witnessed

From early buckled shoes to stiletto heels

From the ruffing of long cotton gown hems

To mini skirts and white go-go boots

Skipping up the stones to a Beatles tune

From the tapped scratches of sword tips

To the swipe of earphone wires dragged behind a teenager

Do not straighten away or replace these stones

These steps hold history and should be respected as such.

MLMM Tale Weaver 7-30-20

Gifted again, a daily assurrence,

We are rewarded by the sun’s reoccurrence

It’s been said “red sky at night, sailors’ delight

Red sky in morning, sailors take warning”

I do not sail, but would heed the old adage

Experiences old have their advantage.

What day is it anyway?

Cloudy and cool with our usual afternoon thundershowers where it pours down unmercifully for a short time–at these temps probably will hail and then a nice evening.

All is well since my fruit and veg supply has been filled and my new coffee maker arrived yesterday. It is red! I love red and have always had red in my kitchen, as did my mom.

Speaking of moms, mine died on the 31st of July, 1976 and I miss her today as much as I did on August 1, 1976. I hope her spirit is happy.

On a better note, my daughter and her daughters and I are busy planning her youngest’s birthday on August 12, when the baby of the family turns 14. I can hardly believe it, but am very lucky I have lived close since her birth.

We are going with a mermaid/sea theme for trimmings since her main present will be a monthly boxed book subscription and this book:

Have a fun weekend!

FOWC: Simpatico

Just sitting in a portico

Sipping beer while words flow

Exchanging views yet unsown

It’s good to have a friend you’ve known

To work out problems overblown

When setting suns emit their moans

From pollution overgrown

Taking time to think of when

The world might resume again

A special time, friend on friend

No real agreements made

Sitting as the evening shades

Observing from a place of old

Wishing all were simpatico.
