The body displayed was indissoluble even in lime, causing quite a stir in the profile of the gathering, as mourners began to sway and chant. The eerie sound style of foreign words was causing some to moan in disbelief. The coroner had pulled every record of arcane burials concerning this occurrence but found no solution. A sudden symbol of the occult appeared over the open coffin causing many observers to faint. Luckily there was a doctor present and administered anodyne medications to the elderly in attendance.

Oh, James, I couldn’t possibly have a martini, as you can see the tea we had at dinner is making me bulge out of my orange dress! I think there was something odd in it, I’m feeling ill. It’s time to retire to our room. Stop eyeing the police at the door, pick up your winnings and let’s go!

Now is the time for sobriety. The binge watching of violence, hate speech and politicians’ diatribes is over. Take a deep breath of outside air, breathe in some clarity. It’s not easy to switch off the pull and enticement of the media, but give yourself a break.

The Wind
Nine pm and a loud knock on the door. Checked my email, nothing from Amazon showing a picture of a delivery, but I heard the person get back in their car and drive away. So I cautiously opened the door and there was a white soft envelope containing one of the gifts for my soon to be 18 year old grandson.
Making a short story long, it has been very windy and gusting through the nights so everything seems colder than it actually is. The funny thing I wanted to tell you is that when I opened the door I heard this sound and it was exactly the sound of wind you hear in a movie soundtrack on a snowy mountain top disaster. Actual whistling– and it made me smile.
So that’s it, just thought I’d share a sound that stirs the imagination on a Monday night.

“Argo”, is a movie starring Ben Affleck and a host of character actors I’ve liked for a long time. A story based on true events and real people and worth your time. Personal note: It was before the Shah was overthrown that my husband and our family were going to be transferred to Tehran for two years minimum, and then cancelled. Someone was watching over us.
