Stories about public figures some times magnify the issue to get more readers.
Fandango’s Flashback Friday
2026 Has to be Better!

the cookie jar looted
some danced tux suited
but I was rooted
in my recliner
nothing finer
heard no one liners
or new rule reminders
just an old lady
doing nothing shady (darn).
Happy New Years Day!

It is perfectly clear some people in leadership have no mindfulness.😀

Just Jot it January 2026 – The Rules!
Can You Tell a Story in 40?

It’s my new resolution.
Oh?
Yes, I’m in no mood to hear that commercial ever again, so the tv is off!
What commercial?
The ones with “human” raisins singing.
That’s old, where’d you hear it?
It’s saved on my Walkman.

“There she goes, grab her Henry! She will get all the other girls! Henry, watch out she’s coming for you!”
“Squaaaak!” Henry tried but too late and he suffered a bite on his neck.
Harry ran to him but there was nothing he could do. He started squawking really loud to attract the farmer to get Hilda away from Henry. Thank heavens he noticed.
“Been at it again, Hilda?” The farmer picked her up and isolated her in another pen. Then he attended Harry.

Friday Fictioneers

Joe was just an ordinary bloke. He lived alone, couldn’t tell a joke. His family believed he lived on a beach, away from them on an island they couldn’t reach. Joe lied, knew his deceit, but seeing his family, have to see, and greet them every day, there is no way Joe could stand it, because his money they’d demand it. Joe had to lie and that is why he lives here in this shack. He sees people all day, shows them the way to see the forest and trees, always eager to please visitors on trails forth and back.

I never thought I would see this day
As Joe observed his neighbor whisked away
But you knew it might be coming
Now frightened voices humming
Our neighbor arrested
All the time he’s invested
To help others, now lines are drawn
Even finding food now will be gone
What can we do I ask my friend
When is this lawlessness going to end
The two worried men sat in their porch chairs
Wondering how to be safe and make leaders aware
These methods are dangerous, not fair.

Keeping her safe, or: What that means
One Liner Wednesday
I tried to find the line Mae West supposedly said to W.C. Fields – “Come up and see me sometime” only to find it was said to Cary Grant in “ She Done Him Wrong” 1933.
—
As kids my sisters and I would act out Mae West’s lines.😄
